    2.5R motor

    Any one dropped in a 2.5R motor. Just picked one up. Havent put it in yet, will in make a big difference?

    not really the only difference is a 60 doller cooling head.

    I think the piston, sleeve and head are diffrent I heard that it should make some diffrence

    apperently the piston and sleeve are the same in the 2.5 and the 2.5r.

    As stated, the only difference is the cooling head. At one time, there was a slight difference in porting, but instead of having to produce two different parts, they are just tossing the "R" parts in "regular" engines now.

    If you send in a toasted 2.5 via the engine replacement plan, Traxxas will send back a 2.5R - with the fancy $60 head.
    Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?
