most broken part

what would you guys say is the part you break most on your pede

mone is the king pin on the caster

uhh probably my spur gears get stripped, not often but that is the most commen part to break(i don't bash hard).

for me i would have to say shock shafts, its not fun as you have to re-build everytime. there is an upside though, I always have properly working shocks that never get so bad that they dont work properly. i bend so many shock shafts that i've even snapped a shaft, now how does that happen

If something actually goes on Ol' Reliable (my Stampede) it's usually a caster block. Then I usually bend those pins as well. If it's not something simple like that it's usually something to do with the transmission (this is rare). Other than that my Stampede usually works.

yup, the caster blocks and pins are a pain. the solution is aluminum caster blocks (#TE1019 at www.hobbyetc.com ) since i got those, i haven't bent a single pin. the movement is so smooth, i can take the caster block assembly off and watch the axle carrier swing back and forth like it was on bearings. best $25 i've ever spent on my rustler (yeah i know this is the stampede forum, but the stuff is the same on the rustler). just do yourself a favor and get new pins at the same time.

I just thought that I would help emphasize that... If you break a caster block then your pins are probably bent... Good luck getting bent pins into an aluminum caster block.

Personally, I do not even break enough caster blocks to justify the cost of aluminum blocks, but for most newer drivers and such they are probably worth it.

mine did not break lots but i bought FLM aluminum ones and switched to 1/8 thick pins and no problems since

Wouldn't this shift the stress to the bearing carrier or A-arm and cause them to break?

I don't think I've ever broken the same part twice. I've broken a front arm, a caster block, a shock cap, a shock end, a front bulkhead, a camber link, an RPM bumper, and a rear arm. These breakages were from four different crashes, I think.

both the arm and the bearing carrier (at least RPM ones) are pretty beefy, so its not a problem.
