MY BEST FRIEND JUST GOT A RTR TC3 AND IS ALL STOCK I WANT A CHEAP RTR THAT CAN BEAT HIM WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO RACES WILL I BE ABLE TO SMOKE HIM WITH A 4TEC AND HANDLING IS NOT MY PRIME CONCERN RIGHT NOW SO I AM ALSO THINKING ABOUT THE SS. WHAT RTR DO YOU PEOPLE THINK I SHOULD GET?

first off, don't use all caps. the stock 4-tec should be able to run with the tc3 rtr, and through in an esc and a mod motor and you'll easily be able to beat it. the ss would be faster than the tc3, but it wouldn't be able to handle nearly as well

Go with the spirit it is cheep and fast you can get one for $100 or less .It goes about 1 m.p.h. less then the s.s. but it is cheeper and has better handling . If you get a green machine 3 for $30 at the most and the 7.2volt 2000mah nicad bat.with charger at radio shack for around $30 you will beat him . And your speed will be about 30 35 m.p.h. or you can get monster of touring 17 turn moter for $17and it can even go faster 35 40 m.p.h.

You should try a 4 tec + esc and a mod motor like 15 turn! the tc3 will be out the race¸!
also a small question... why not any traxxas at race??
