Has anyone run their Pede at the beach or dunes? SAND ?'s

Ok, I know that the beach is generally considered the worst place besides a mine field to run a nitro truck, but has anyone had experience with a nitro pede in sand? I know all of the worries of sand getting into gears, motor/carb, everywhere, but taking proper precautions and preperations and performing a complete teardown afterward, how would a two wheel drive truck do? I know they have monster on the beach competitions and stuff for larger 4x4's, but havent seen much about pedes. I was considering getting a set of pro line paddle tires for the back, but if its just going to be slow and lame and overheat, it's not worth it. I would obviously stay away from water or wet sand. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I ran mine on the beach a couple of months ago and i did not have any problems but the stock tires did not get the best of grip but it does ok and my pull start broke but it did not have any thing to do with the sand and also the truck was covered in sand after i was done and if you try to run WOT it goes about the same speed as half but you will over heat your engine in no time at alland if u do huge burnouts you will get stuck in the hole u dig and it takes alot of careful throttle control.

Thanks for the input. Was it pretty fun though? Would paddle tires make a huge difference? I would like it go pretty fast to make it worth all the effert to sand prep it.

it was fun but somtimes the truck would get stuck on top of the edges of the tire trcks and sometimes in them because it was to steep to get traction on the other side and you could drift around the beach on the less bumpy parts of the berms witch were almost completely undisturbed and you really don't need to prep your truck at all because it gets good enough traction but if u wanted extra u could put chains on your tires or put off set maxx rims on the back with big paddle tires because stampede tires are not wide enough too float on top of the sand and with maxx rims with paddle ties would make an extreme change in traction.

i bash my pede in the sand all the time with no problems i went and got a set of paddles. and took an old set or onroad tires and crossed hatched them. they work great in the dry i have also ran it in simi wet sand with buggy tires on the front for a better bite.
i have my truck set up with my diff locked on the tranny i use in the sand. i have been playing with different gear set ups for when i run in the sand nothing like a rooster about 3 foot off the back going all over some punk on the beachor hitting so poor kids sand castial at full speed and duing doughnuts on it

Thanks for the input. Do you have a stock engine? Does the truck run pretty fast in the sand? I just want to throw rooster tales and run around and have some fun every now and then.
