    HELP! Novak SS5800 problem

Well the other day I was bashing around in a parking lot racing an e-maxx. Ran great all day. Then i was full speed and ended up hitting a curb before I could slow down enough. It didnt take that hard of a hit but I just busted a steering block and had it running again the next day. Well i took it out again and after about 2 minutes of running back and forth on the street, it started making a strange noise after take off and could not get up to speed! I opened up the motor and sprayed some motor cleaner in there, everything seemed normal so i put it back together. this didnt fix the problem. Im hoping this problem is not in the electronics! Im wondering if I can send it to novak and they can replace it. It was purchased christmas time. Any one have a possible solution or has had this problem?

Sounds like a cogging issuie, which meens you need too check your sensor wire plug on the ESC,amke sure its plugged in all the way.
You may have damaged a sensor wire it sounds like too me,hopefully the plug has just come out a little bit and can just be plugged back in.

Well I disconnected that and sprayed cleaner on there. Made sure all the little metal tabs were there and ok. Just took it out for a run and it was fine at first but then it came back. Its like a low pitch loud sound. and then it makes high pitch chirps. and no its not glitching.

No that sound is "cogging" and it sounds like you may have damaged a sensor in the motor,or a a mosfet in the ESC.
Sounds like a trip too NOVAK is in order buddy .

You'll have to contact Novak to find out the answer to that one.

    You're running your emaxx with a 5800?

I think he meant he's racing against an emaxx.

If he were having problems with an emaxx, I'd hope he'd post the problem in that forum, not in the stampede forum.

Agh!! Don't spray motor cleaner inside the SS5800 motor! Novak doesn't recommend it. Hopefully you got lucky and didn't damage anything else.

Did you re-oil that front bearing after spraying the motor? You might have a dry bearing.
