    General Lee body

Anybody know where I can get a general lee body that will fit the stampede? I know they make one for the Savage but I looked and looked and couldn't find anything for the stampede.

After looking around, I can tell you this:

Proline, Mcallister, & Parma do not make a '69 Charger body.

The HPI one for the Savage is much too long.

I think you're out of luck.

Yeah I saw this and that was going to be my next question. Could I get this to fit on a stampede and would it look too weird or not.

IMO, it is about 3" too long.
Most bodies that fit the 'Pede well are ~17" long with a wheelbase of ~10-11".

That body is 20" long with a 12" wheelbase.

EDIT: For comparison, this Proline Early 50's Chevy is 17&#190" long with a wheelbase of 11&#188".

Compare the length & wheelbase figures on Tower to the ones I posted above and decide for yourself (since your opinion is the one that really matters).

Personally, I think even my 50's Chevy is a little too long.

BTW, my 'Pede (in the above pic) is also widened via Seb's method, so it's wheelbase is slightly longer than stock.

The real problem with those bodies is that they are too WIDE. They are designed for Maxx trucks and will get hit by the Pede wheels when you slam a big bump. You could always jack them up but... They are long because that style body stuck way out beyond the wheels. That is only a problem if your pede tends to wheelie or come down tail end first off a jump. Both of which are a fact of life for my Pede!!!!! just my .02

After googling a ton of websites I am noticing there isn't much variety out there for stock stampede bodies. Everything real nice is for the e/tmaxx. Where do you guys go to look for bodies or are you mostly using the generic stampede body for your paint jobs?

According to Tower, both of the bodies he linked to are 7" wide.

The F150 Proline used to make for the 'Pede is 7&#188" wide at the front wheel wells and 7&#189" wide at the rear.

The stock 'Pede body is 5&#190" wide at the front wheel wells and 6 3/8" wide at the rear.

It doesn't really matter how wide the body is on a pede because the tires won't come up all the way to the body when the suspension is fully compressed. Unless you've modded the suspension, that is.

Even if it is does just trim the body a little.
