    Rear differential question

Being new to E-Maxxes, I had a question I hope someone can help me with. Last night after running, I brought it home and was cleaning when I noticed that all around the seam where the differential goes I had dust stuck to an oily residue. Is it normal for the diff to seep here, or do I need to take it apart and tighen it up or reseal it? Also, I think I remember reading, but correct me if I'm wrong, it's nomral to have some oily residue on the bottoms of the shocks? I have a little bit in the rear, almost none in the front. Thanks for any suggestions.

Completely normal. The diff housing is not sealed. So it will leak a little. As far as the shocks, with use they too will leak. The dust collection on the shaft only serves to wear the seals, making them leak.

Thanks for the tip...does the diff require a normal refilling with lube, or is the leak small enough that it's not wrth worrying about?

The diff will need to have periodic maintance done on it. That inolves removal, cleaning, refilling the diff cup with diff oil, and adding diff grease to the ring and pinion gears.
