What type of wheels? Slayden?, Ringo?, Anyone?

Hey,
Im curious to know what type of wheels the Jato will take. My guess is hex due to the picture I saw from rc car action, it shows the Traxxas dished rims I believe... Anyways It would be nice to know. Because if it will take AE or Team Losi Wheels then I might pick up a pair soon.

Nitro Rustler wheels are a direct bolt-on for the Jato. They're 2.2 in, so you can use any aftermarket truck tire. I tried fitting Associated T4 wheels, however, the Jato's 5mm axles are too large, and the T4/XXT wheels won't work with the Jato's hex. The hex is necessary to provide the right wheel offset/clearance between the inside of the wheel and the suspension. So.. stock up on 1972 and 1974 NR wheels - until Traxxas comes out with more 2.8 inch tires for the Jato wheels. I like the larger wheels - they definitely give the truck a distinct appearance; Traxxas is likely coming out with a street tread and step-pin-style tire initially. Aftermarket tire manufacturers will likely jump on the 2.8-inch bandwagon, as they have begun to do for the Revo's unique wheel size//type (Panther Pythons, etc.).

Steve has been racing with 2.2 tires so that when it comes out he will have a good base setup I'm sure.

At the track Saturday it was looking good and his lap times are almost as fast as my Revo, which is impressive on the track we were running on.

Monster trucks are usually faster on larger tracks, most of the time vice versa.

I believe you guys race at Johnny Cool Guy raceway which is a pretty big track. Plus I believe Johnny Ringo runs a big block while Slaydens Jato has a .12. Big advantage on a big track.
