What does Slaydaddy think of it so far

Hey Slayden I'm sure that you ran one of the Jatos and I was just wondering what you think of the truck so far and how the truck ran? I'm sure you cant give us much info but how about just a little teaz for us that are awaiting for it? Also do you think that there will be much changing in the truck from the pics thats on the site? Thanks for any help you could give us and I cant wait to see you drive this one now.

And that is why his looks so different from the stock pics in the gallery. He's already got the Alium Turnbuckles, looks like a modded revo pipe, cvd's, bet single speed in order to race, and the "R" cooling head, and no ez-starter.

*Droool* I want his lol, already to go.

Ya he is. I wish I was, that would be awsome racing and get free parts and what not. Basically getting to do something you like for a living.

I'm sure traxxas pays for 20% of the things he's got on his cars, they don't pay for it 100%...unless maybe he is testing- then the cars are test cars, not his cars to keep (just saying dont think that traxxas pays for everything)

The Jato worked great last weekend. There were quite a few entries in Expert gas truck, and the track was very difficult which leveled the field even more. I managed to qual at the top of the C, just missing the B (something like 17th or 18 overall).

I didn't get much practice with the truck because I was also running three other classes!!! LOL!!! I know it's crazy, but I can't get enough of RC racing. I enjoy all of the classes, so it's hard not to want to race them all.

The good news is that the Jato improved with each time I ran it. The track was very slick, so I worked on finding a good slick track set-up. Steering and handling was excellent. Once I find a good set-up for getting power to the ground a little better, it will be dialed!

Also, it's important to note that I was running a pretty hot .12 (OS .12TR) with a slide carb. Most fast gas truck drivers run more mellow .12 engines and barrel carbs to take the "edge" off. That attributed to much of the traction issue on this partular track - but, for now, it's the only engine I have.

Side note - We did very well with our Revos. I TQ'd the Unlimited class, and Alan Shivers (our service manager), you may know him as Johnny Ringo, won the Standard MT class. It was awesome.

Are you going to write an article on it on the traxxas website? Like all the other races you had? I would love to see it.

It looks like you might be able to use the wheels up front but in the back they are useing the plastic slide drive axles so I think they put the hex on there too just like the revo so I dont think you could use XXX-NT or RC10 GT wheels in the back. But I could be wrong this is what I came up with from looking at what ever pics I could find.

    why is it:
    1) u build a race truck, THEN have to tear it apart just to get it ready to race?
    2) put things on it which are totally NOT LEGAL to use in ROAR racing?
    3) Why didnt u guy just make the JATO roar leagl in the first place, and put the hotter items for option parts??

    Hi

    1) Don't get it, For maintenance ??
    2) To attract people to the truck, faster and tougher.
    3) Because if they do, people who doesn't race will need to buy a .15 or .18 engine and a new tranny (2-speed).

    But here more,

    4) Why don't they put tougher parts that we find on the accessories directly on the RTR truck. Like thoses Low Mass Metal Constant Velocity Driveshafts.

    5) Are Jato Pipe and Air Filter as same as rustler ?

thay dont but on all the accessories because they try to kepe the cost down on the truck because people dont want to buy a $500 dollar stadium truck with the accessories they rather sel a $340 dollar staduim truck and if the people want the accessories thay will buy the ones they want

A RC10GT with a nice motor, parts, and Radio will top 500 easily. The majority of people DO not race. So why make a race only stadium truck for the 10% of the 100%. Some of you don't understand how business runs.

isnt .15's and .18 illegal for sactioned comp?? They should have made the jato like the did the TCP. That would have been the best way im thinking...leaving mill choice to owner

    1) Who said it was a "race" truck.
    2) So does LOSI with their RTR.
    3) Becuase some/half of the people who will buy a TRAXXAS vehicle will never race their trucks.

Even if TRAXXAS did put in a .12, any one who raced it would put in a top of the line .12. If you don't want one, don't get it.

What do you think of the RC10GT? In durability, speed.

I have the RC10GT and moded it to fit a 2.5 motor. It runs very well. Its not very durable though, the turning though is great. Its not that great for jumping either. Its a all around fun car, and I can see it doing well at the track. I like playing with the rustler for more hard core bashing.

Im really excited about this Jato though. Its a mix of both.
