Well today, I went down a friends house to work on our A.P. Statistics Project. We did a test with probability and jumping the R/C's over like a gap of 13 feet or something and we always make a prop to hold all our information and graphs out of wood. (our first project we made a life size drum set out of wood) But anyway, they kid I do the projects with, his uncle is a cabnet maker and has all these tools and saws and scrap wood to make these things.
Were down there making a small 2 foot ramp for our prop and making a speaker box for my friends new system. So I asked the guy if we could make one more ramp for me to use with my car, since my friend and his dad were busy wraping the box in carpet. He was cool with it and we talked out some plans and I ended up with the nicest ramp.

We started out my setting the height with a 2x4 on its side. Cut the bottom corner down to be flush with the ground and then cut the corner off a short piece of 2x4 to get the top of the 2x4 to be flush. We made two of these braces, but I wasnt saticified with the height and I wanted it to have a kick. So we took a peice of 2x4 that was 20 inches long and cut it equaly in two triangles. Thus I had two 3 1/2" wedges that we 20" long and I screwed them down at the top of the 2x4 frame. They cuts some scrap sheets of ply wood and nailed it down to get the kick i wanted and braced it up on the underside.
The thing is like 46" Long, 32" wide and 19 1/2" high with a 3 1/2" kick at the top. Total of 23" high. I was afraid the bottom would be too steep for the car but it will be fine after i rolled the car around it today. I am sure that it will cause the shocks to preload when it hits, thus causing it to spring more off the end. THis is going to be sick im sure, lol.
I plan on sealing the wood, and then getting some textured pain on the ramp. Then maybe stincling some designs on it.
