What was your first R/C vehicle?

What was your first R/C vehicle? How long ago was it and what are your fondest memories of it?

Mine was the Tamiya Frog. My best friend in high school had the same and introduced me to R/C. I loved it so much , I ended up buying my brother a used one for his bday. I remember having racing him all the time in the parking lot near my house. I still have it and it still works great. I also hand painted a flame motif on the inside of it. I may have to dust it off and put it on bookshelf.

I got the truck when I was 16 in high school. Fast forward about 16 years and I get my second truck, the Emaxx. It's like being a kid all over again.
Current: 7 cell Hypercell packs, GorillaMaxx straps, UE Widetrac Gen 2, GA 6065 bulks, GA Ti 2mm f/r skids, Trinity XXtra heavy blue springs, Maximizer beadlocks w/ stock treads, stock wheels with Road Rage tires, Hitec 645, JR XS3 radio/receiver, front/rear MIP shiny CVD's For the future:TMaxx -or- UE Lightening chassis, HVMaxx, new diffs/gears

my first was a truck called crashback that when you would run into something it would get smushed. then you would press a botton and it would strech back out. I still got it and it works but i haven't run it since i got my e-maxx.(2 years ago.) Its a cool truck.

A Tyco Bandit that was fast for me back in 1990. No that I have my E-MAXX and my X-Ray T1FK, doesn't seem to matter. It broke because one of the wires was pulled lose from the motor when I was bashing in the grass. If only I knew how to solder back then....but i was only 13 yrs old.

Oh, and radio shack had no ideal of how to fix it....losers.

My first RC was the RC10 with the gold tub chassis (1990), and a Blackfoot, I pulled the RC10 out of the attic the other day and it still works, looking back at the Blackfoot and now owning the EMAXX it clearly shows how things have improved over the years.LOL

my first rc car was a radioshake car back when i was ten or eleven but if you don't cinsider that a real rc car then i guess it would have to be my e-maxx. my brother thinks his stampede can bet my maxx in a straight line... i guess we will have to find out.

P.S. he has a 17 turn mod motor in it
having your e-maxx beat-up on the nitros during racing season: priceless. although rc can be expensive. my truck: $1800 cnd.

My first RC was a Radioshack 4x4 pickup (no suspension) I got for Christmas in 1991. Second one was the Emaxx I got a month ago. What a difference.
If it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features.

First was a radio shack "wild pony", it was from the 1980's,
4wd independent suspension, it was like 1/18 scale, ran on 8 "AA's", and had a semi-like body. IT was the best truck ever made buy radio shack, it had 2speeds(hi/low), and it could go over alomost anything, seriously. I put it in a mud puddle (not just brown water, really mud) like 4 inches deep, and it went through it with no problem, btw, the ground clearence was only like 1 1/2 inches. I got it at a yard sale for $1, lasted me about 2 years, best buck I ever spent

My first real rc was a t-maxx I got from "Santa" when I was nine, 4 years ago.

my first was actually a traxxas back in 1988. it was the traxxas CAT. go here and click on 1987.

you will be envious when you see that fine r/c buggy, and you will say to your self,"man, i wish i had on of those back in 1988".

From Dayton, Cincinnati, or Columbus, OH? Then check out CRCRC, indoor track in Columbus. www.crcrc.com . Also check out www.ohionitro.com ... Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting aloud, "I lived life like my E-Maxx".

    My first R/C

The very first R/C vehicle I had was a Radio Shack Z-707 Battle Iron Claw. It was a main battle tank body with tracks and huge robot claw on the front. I got in sometime in the early 80s.

I have had several R/C buggies, Nikko, Tyco, Radio Shack and others. (I've broken or lost them all by now.)

My ultimately favorite R/C toy is the Tyco FirePower. Really fun to chase cats with. At least until I broke the front wheels, now it won't steer. Still shoots its missiles though.

My first "real" R/C was an Associated RC10B2. Didn't fit my driving style though. Understeers like mad on pavement, and won't go through grass very well at all or very rough terrain either for that matter.

    Then I got my Stampede.

I also have a Tyco Terrain Twister, that thing goes like mad through the snow. In fact, that's the best terrain for it, IMO. Well, it is pretty cool in water too. For a toy.
It didn't have enough power... so, I rewired it!

I have 11 cheap cars right now and most of them still work. They are all new bright, radio shack and that kind of stuff. I got my first one when i was 5. When i was 11 i discovered real rcs and now i have a spirit, tmaxx, rustler and in a few days electric stampede. Rustler is going to be set up for racing, Tmaxx for bashing, Stampede for those times when you dont feel like starting up a nitro engine and jsut want some quick fun and spirit the same.
