    transforming a PEDE into....

I am looking to transform my stampede into a XXX-T or T4 or of course something like a Rustler. I want to race this guy without having to buy another car. I have about $200 to work with. Any suggestions would be nice and thanks for your cooperation.

A 'Pede and Rusty are essentially the same truck with a different chassis.

Here is Swami's list of parts needed to so the conversion.

No I dont want a Rustler. I want interchanging parts from any of the best stadium truck racers out there. Im making it a racer. Thanks though for giving me something to look at.

I've never heard of anyone ever converting a Stampede into a T4 before. It sounds like you would be spending alot of time and money just to test parts and see if they fit. It might work though. You might be interested in what Jang did to his Rustler..

No parts are interchangeable. If you want a xxx4 or t4, then sell your Pede & buy one.

Yeah it's most likely going to be crazy and time consuming but I am willing to make this work and even make some of my own parts to help it out (ghetto style) . I'm not doing this for the sole purpose of being the first and if I'm not that's okay because I just want a great racer for the track. I'm not too fond of always having a broken pede lying around to be fixed so I decided to take that motive and have it be a productive R/C car. You guys will be the first to see it if I transform it.

Aside from the electronics, tires, & body, there are no interchangeable parts. And the body would require different mounting holes.

Which can be arranged. I know small parts can't be interchanged. I was talking parts like that Razer. The tires..etc...

suspension arms could be easily transfered...may require some shaving of the bulks (and/or casters) or addition of spacers and new pins...maybe some light drilling out of holes...but thats bout it

everything he listed was extremely obvious...they both use 2.2 truck tires...they both use bodies that are about the same length and width...the electronics are not vehicle specific in these cases

He'd be better off racing a Pede than a hacked up Pede with t4 arms. For $200, he could just buy the truck he wants & still keep the Pede.

Awww...it's true but I would rather not. Is the T4 even worth racing. I heard from people that Associated cars kind of suck. No offense towards the company.

are those T3 arms more durable? and is there any way to get a gear box from another stadium truck back there with little trouble. I don't mind making new holes and doing things to make it fit unless it gets worse than the original Pede's box. I would also like to take another ST's chassis and put it on the Pede. I am trying to have as little Stampede parts on there as possible...

See I thought of the same thing.. A lot of work and the Pede can be a beast on the track. It just needs the letters "ST" in mind. Lower chassis, different tires, more handling, etc...

We call that a "Rusty" - short for "Rustler".

I don't want to buy another truck. I want to have a crazy experience of "transforming" a MT basher into a ST racer. I still would like some parts on there to be from the Pede so I can say, "look this car used to be a Stampede". Everybody would have funny looks on their faces. lol

it wont ever have been a pede if you use "as little Stampede parts on there as possible"...it will be some other vehicle with a few pede parts...thats NOT a pede, and it never was

No offense to Traxxas and you Razer, but I do not think the Rustler is capable of racing in my mind. I have heard of some bad experiences. I'm not trying to bash you, but I just wanna show my stance on that issue.

no offense to you, but from that statement and another one above about AE it shows me that you really dont know what your talking about when it comes to racing...and whoever is giving you the "advice" you are receiving is very very wrong

I know plenty about racing, the stock Rustler is just not capable. A modded one definitely is though. I have personally seen some great modded ones. They can own.

But you want to convert a Pede to a T4, which you apparently also heard sucked. Great idea.

Yea I know, I was just thinking of ST's that I knew of at the time. I do envy the XXX-T though, but I'm not seeing anything coming from it....

    • Trolling. Trolling is purposely starting posts that will turn into flame wars. Get a taste for this activity and you will need to find another place to post. It is unwelcome here.(Warning points: 10)

My guess, this thread will soon be closed.
Your idea is ok,why not just buy a T4,then add a pede part or 2,I meen thats what you will end up with right?
