    .21 engine

Well, I went and did it, I put a ofna/picco .21 and a massive fantom works pipe into my rusty yesterday. It wasnt cheap but I had to try it. Finished it late last night and at 11:00 pm I was in home depot`s parking lot breaking it in, Let me tell you this thing is crazy fast. Not knowing where to start with gearing, I rolled the dice and put in a 70/22 combo and so far it seems to be good all around , after more testing, I`ll know for sure. And I`ll keep you guys up to date on how the tranny holds up, I wish someone would come out with some stronger tranny gears, right now I`m alittle worried about it, so I set the slipper at half turn. Hope it helps some.

Why to go on the ofna/picco swap , knowing that that engine is a small too !!! I'm going to go after the swap my self , was there any mods that had to be done ?? besides the rusty is bad with the 2.5 and I hope the .21 is a lot more power anys ways , most of the fun you have is the striaght a ways LOL !!! Have fun and order tranny parts any ways , my 2.5 breaks them all the time ,so I have them in the tool box waiting !!!!

That thing must RIP. It'd be great to see some pics. You are the second person I know with a .21 in the N Rusty. So far it sounds like the tranny can hold up for the most part!

    .21 engine

I will get some pictures out to you guy`s as soon as I get my camera back from a friend, I let him barrow for his vacation. As for the mods I had to do, I took the hard way, I purchased the engine and pipe from my local hobby shop, but they did not have the convesion mount, and I was to impatient to wait and have to order it from new era. I would not suggest this if you are going to do the swap, it took me all of six hours to complete the job. I used the mount with the help of a grinding wheel that came with the engine. And had to fab my own slide mount. And it didn`t stop there I also had to use my dremmel and grind alittle of the upper chassis behind the fuel tank and alittle grinding of the brace that runs between the upper chassis and the tranny. All in all it wasn`t hard to do, it was just very time consuming. And now for the part when I pat myself on the back, it came out perfect, if I do say so myself lol.

Custom mods are always time consuming, but if you think it out and use good materials, most of the time you get a good result!

Cant wait for those pics. Also let us know if there are any problems that the engine causes or what you think of the engine.
