    Too Close For Comfort

My spurr gear spins very close to the elbow of my air filter. The gear has even hit the elbow and cut into it. Has anyone had this happen? Any suggestions on how to stop it?

Have you changed your spur gear or is it stock? I know the stock spur gear (out of the box) is very close, but it will not rub or cut into the carb. Turn your carb/airfilter in slightly, counter-clockwise. Make sure it is on all the way if you have taken it off.

Just turn the air filter so it doesn't hit.
Apparently my opinion differs from your opinion. However, you don't have to be mean about it.

When they put the 2.5 in the Rustler it made EVERYTHING fit close. Simply turning the air filter does not do much because the spur gear is close to the neck of the air filter.

It is close but just keep an eye on it. Make sure it is pressed all the way onto the carb and secured with a zip tie around the base. That will keep it from flopping around.

My spur gear seems off balance, it slightly wil woble left to right in rotation. It is tight. Is a steel spur gear ok to use, or is platic better?

Its ok if there is a little wobbling when you spin the spur gear. Pretty much any rc with a plastic spur that I've seen wobbles a little.
