    Fail Safes

What fail safe would you guys recommend and why do you think it's better than the others? Just want the best, especially after getting done rebuilding my ride in all aluminum and carbon fiber. With my luck I'd lose power and slam a curb or wall.

    Venom Fail-Safe !

Better that the others becuase: The Website and support for installation of their product! (Very, super, simple)

Make sure you have a 6volt hump-pack though Ryan as it will need the full 6volts to function 100% as per VENOM-RACING

The Venom failsafe is probably the best, it has low battery shutoff, and interference shutoff. It is small, has a bright LED light, and looks cool. It's also easy to setup.

theres 3 types of failsafes..... one that detects if the reciver batter is low and it puts the throttle servo into the brake posision... and another detects if your radio frequency is diying and puts the throttle servo into the brake posision... and the third type.... well does both...

theres another way, witch is called a throttle return spring, witch when the servo is loosin power due to batts bieng low the spring is strong enough and brings it back to the brake posision...

and like the otha ppl said the best failsafe is probly the venom.... http://www.venom-racing.com/

Does the Venom do both range and power?

Nevermind...Figured I wouldn't be lazy so I went to their site. Guess it does do both.

    I have a Dynimate Fail-Safe

It has both.. I'm curious do you all think Dynamite R\C's Micro Failsafe is good? The guy at the hobby store said it was good and it's small as heck, half the size as the Venom one, costed me 34$ http://dynamiterc.com/Products/Detai...ductID=DYN2553

i have a gws failsafe. maybe you guys have never heard of gws. but gws is very respected for their stuff in airplanes and is very light. i got my failsafe at 20 bucks. at the ram show. it puts brake on if u lose crystal in radio/reciever(from expierence ),it puts it in brake if the battery voltage drops below 4 volts.(also from epierence ),it puts in brake if u get interference or turn ur radio off(also from epierence ). it fully adjustable, looks like a venom failsafe for half the cost. it also has a led heres a link to gws(grand wing servo)

If you are talking about the OFNA micro unit (part # LC-1002S), then it is very small. The only thing is that if you turn your receiver off for some reason you have to set it again when you turn the receiver on again. It doesn't take very long to set though.

Never noticed that with mine. Works just fine. Had to set it once at the begining, but now it works fine, no matter what order i turn on and off the radio gear.

On the back of the package of mine it says the following:

" WARNING: If receiver is dead or removed or car battery is ****ched off, THE FAIL SAFE UNIT WIL NOT FUNCTION, nor provide any RC control protection"

I am not yelling, I am just quoting exactly what is on the package. I have not used it yet so I don't know it it is true or not.

Im pretty sure that just means that when the battery dies or is disconnected, the failsafe will not recieve the power to do its job. Ill have to look at the packaging, but i dont remember seeing that on there.

Both my son and I have the Ofna failsafes and they work great. I have turned the receiver off first several times, even unplugged it from the receiver and the throttle servo and then plugged it back in....still works just fine(have not had to reset it once). JMO

gws is not big in cars at all. but us airplane people have always loved gws. even though there not as big as futaba, hitec. they are very light and very reliable. i never had a problem with gws. and there stuff is sheep. venom is just a higher priced thing. why get something that is twice more money and does the same thing. i reccomend gws all the way. if u go to any airplane forum gws will be on their for their good electronics.

ooohhhhhhhhh yeah umm the batterys problem u guys were saying.i wont have to worry bout dat. if i lose a radio batery the fail safe turns one. if the reciever battery goes below 4.0 votls the faisafe unit turns on. so i dont have to worry bout my bats. the fail safe catches tham. thats why i dont use a trs. no need. my throttle servo is well takin care of by the fail safe

I guess the Fail Safes won't help me. About 10 minutes ago my battery pack busted open ejecting 2 batteries. And leaving my truck going WOT. Fried the plug.
