I took woodshop as a freshy. I'm also taking drafting now as a Junior. Umm why can't you just do both? If your sched is tight I'd say go for wood shop for fun, but drafting if you're looking for a career in it.
My toys-
83 Camaro (305, 4bbl, 5.0, hypertech chip w/flowmasters) 67 camaro with a 454, E-maxx, Hpi Rs4 racer 2 (rossi engine), rc10gt, yamaha blaster.
I am taking spanish as a second language. UCI requires 3 years of a foriegn language. I didn't expect this much of a response. Maybe I will take Drafting 1 as a sophmore, drafting 2 as a junior, and take drafting 3 as a senior. In drafting 3 you get to do CAD work.
Im going to have my sister get a list of all the available classes at PHS.
Now I only have to find out what Ill do second semester.![]()

I took drafting as a freshmen last year. It was pretty cool cause you were able to draw outlines of things on the computer. We used CAD too which is really cool but it takes some time to learn all of the different functions of it. After pretty much the 3rd month in the class, everyone pretty much stopped doing their work. We played games (Counter Strike) everyday in that class which was a blast and we still got full credit for all the work that we didn't do. We had a teacher who didn't care what we did and that is why he is no longer at the school this year. That class was the best. I am takin it next year so it should be fun once again. I have only taken woodshop one time and that was in 8th grade. It was pretty fun but the highschool woodshop at my school is like 2 classrooms big. I think woodshop it really cool but you really wouldn't be using any of the skills that you learn when you get older other then buildin a couple things around the house. The drafting class was really cool cause I got to use an advance program that my dads work uses.
I like to drive my new 17' Sunbird boat and my Jeep Wrangler.
Drafting.much better skills you learn and if you attend college and take classes on Drafting you can get a good job and draftmen make Good money$
Both are awesome. If you have to pick one, however, go with drafting if you're thinking career. You want to be designing and engineering things, man. Woodworking is no doubt fun, but if you're looking to invest in your future, I'd go in a direction that is more marketable. You can make a lot more money and you get a lot more freedom in choosing which facet of the industry you want to be a part of. Automotive, architecture, medical or even designing bigger and better R/C trucks!
Your so lucky all of you!!! My god I wish I went to your schools!!

My school is in a super rich city and they spent millions of dollars on it, BUT NO SHOPS!! No wood shop, no metal shop, no automechanics, to drafting, NOTHING!!
They expect everyone in the whole frikin school to become stupid lawyers and doctors......which thats my life nightmare....![]()
