Urgent question about pinion gear installation

I've soldered my caps on the MM, broken in the motor, went out and bought the right size allen so I wouldn't strip the grub screw.

When I install the pinion on the shaft, and I'm looking at the truck from the rear, the pinion only contacts the right side of the spur gear, maybe about 33%.

Is this right? I can't move the pinion gear any further down the shaft...it's as far as it can be so the grub screw still contacts the flat part of the shaft.

*Ahem* It seems to fit much better when it's not installed backwards. :-)

Flip the pinion over so that the setscrew is right at the end of the motor shaft. It should line up better.

It's hard to understand what your saying, but it I were you, I would put the pinion on backwards.
