Why is my Pede so slow?

    I have a Chromium 16t motor. Intellispeed 16t ESC. Venom 3000's. M2k's. 14/84 gearing- switching to 14/87.
It will not pick the front end up at all. It has a slow top speed as well.
I know switching to a good matched pack will help, but I tried a good matched pack and it was still slow.
    Any suggestions?

There are a lot of possible reasons that your pede is slow. I will try to cover the basics.

Make sure that your esc is properly set. What is the timing set at on the motor? More timing equals more speed but also more wear.

Take the pinion off of the motor and roll the truck on a smooth, hard surface. It should roll easily and smoothly. If it doesn't then check your bearings/bushings for drag and clean them if neccessary. Make sure your axle nuts aren't on too tight, as this will also cause extra drag. Check your pinion/spur mesh, you should be able to slightly rock the spur while holding the pinion. If it is too tight then it will also cause drag.

What are you using for a charger? How warm is your battery at the end of a charge? It should be a little warm, but not hot. If it is still cool than it is not fully charged, and it will not put out maximum voltage.

How many runs does the motor have on it? If it has been run for quite a while it may need some maintenance.

Switching to an 87 spur verses and 84 tooth spur will actually decreae your top speed. It will increase your acceleration however.
It sure seems like sense is no longer common.
