    4x4 chassis?

I want to make my pede a 4x4. I have evrything worked out except for where i can pu my dual batteries and EVX. Is there a chassis that i can buy that will able me to fit these on? Because I have no ideas for where to place them? Thanks!

how about either making a 'holder' for underneath where the batt. goes now, or if your gonna use the same 2 batts. just ziptie one on the bottom, that way your truck also wont be so top heavy, cause you have more weight lower.

i still like what heavy throttle did with his 4x4...he got an emaxx chassis (off of ebay i believe...but dont quote me) and hacked it up to get this:

I like wat heavy throttle did too. But that looks more like a carbon fiber chassis more than emaxx. Only thing i c from emaxx are the battery boxes. Where can i find sheets of carbon fiber and how much?...

That is all that heavythrottle used the emaxx chassis for, was those battery trays. I have a link to buy carbon fiber, but I am afraid to post it and get into trouble. Pm me if you would like it I guess.

I ripped the battery trays from an emaxx chassis. I bought a carbon fiber strip from mcmaster.com. I think I only paid like 30$ or so if I remember right. Stuff is a bit hard to work with when you don't use carbide tools, and will make you itch for a week as well like fiberglass. Overall it's super strong, I'm suprised it's still in one piece after what I have done to it.

i wasnt saying his chassis was from an emaxx, just showing how he did his batteries...sorry for the confusion
here is a place where you can get a cf 4x4 chassis...dont buy it direct though, other people have gotten their stuff from ebay or stormerhobbies for much much cheaper

well im throwin the 4x4 idea out the window. It just too expensive for me right now for the way i wanted to do it..it was comin close to the cost of an emaxx. I think i might just save up for brushless this summer.

Back when we older users had done it, the stampede was made in a kit form. You could get the kit form for like 60$ retail. Grab all your tranny parts outa it, and then start selling the body, tires, rims, chassis, esc or msc, shocks, ect to make up the price. Now with only having a RTR version it makes the cost too high, and building a tranny from scratch is also on the expensive side.

You can also check ebay, and get a used rolling chassis for a good price and then still do the same, just rip the tranny parts off and sell the rest in parts to some friends or back on ebay.

I did mine very similarly to HT's. I got most of my parts off ebay, including a few rolling chassis's. At the time, i could get new kits, but i got 2 rolling chassis's for the price of one kit.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, and i should get a pic of it, but when i completed it, i managed to be able to use standard bodies that would fit both the 2wd and 4x4 stampede using the same holes for mounting the body, and for the antenna.
