    steering servos

o.k i have one unanswered question. when i got my stampede i had one problem. my steering servo kept on stripping gears so i finally upgraded to a high torque servo which has been awesome for me. i have had no problems with it. if someone can answer my question that would be great.

    Uhhhh....what's your question?
Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?

The little plastic gears in the stock servo are very weak.
When a front tire on the truck hits something, it puts tremendous stress on the gears in the servo and the weak ones in the stock servo strip.
    Don't believe everything you think.

Well, IMO (and others too) - the stock servo saver is a little bit too stiff to protect the servo gears when you hit things. Others have had good luck with an aftermarket servo saver and the stock servo.

Only problem with the MG servos is that the servo mounting tabs break off when you slam into a curb instead of the gears stripping. This has happened to me twice now, and I only have 1 more spare servo case. (the servos that I use are no longer in production...)

Easy solution would be to not to hit immovable objects at high speed. (I know, easier said than done!)

Anyway, some damage is to be expected with any high speed collision. I keep plenty of spares to save trips to the hobby store!
