    Exclamation I need some help.

I just resently fixed my Stampede.I had to tear the whole back end off of it to fix it.I spent about $10.00, wich is not really bad.I put is back together then it striped the gear after 3 minutes of run time.I then went and got a new gear.(72)I did not know that the one I had was a 66 tooth. So now I have to go buy another gear, and fix it.I want to know why it keeps striping gears.MY uncle sais his did that even when it was brand new.My guess is that traxxas needs to make stronger gears. My uncle said that if he has a mold of the gear he could make it titanium.Would it still strip if I get a metal gear at a store, or should my uncle try to get a mold?

If you are stripping gears, theres an alignment or mesh problem. NOT a gear problem.

A too tight slipper can also cause this.

Im sure once other people see this they will fill this thread with tips on checking the gear alignment and adjusting the slipper.

The slipper MUST slip. Also, make sure your clutch bell doesnt have jaggies on it.

you want the slipper to do its job and slip, not the diff - racing tip

anyways, you can use a piece of paper or a thin plastic bag that parts come in between the gears, tighten it down as centered as possible.

going steel spur may sound great, sometimes its an ok idea, for me it saved me time and money in the long run so far, but it did wear out my RRP 19t cbell after around 6 months of use.
