    Question flush

    for the factory settings on the LSN, what does it look like when it is "flush". i dont really understand what i am looking for. any pictures??

    have you ever been using the dremel, and the bit got so hot that it started to MELT the plastic and then little peices of scorching plastic fly off and hit you in the eye???no???ok i was just wondering?

    The best way I came up with checking "flush" is by dragging the tip of a flat blade screwdriver across the head of the screw onto the first "ridge" in the LSN. When the head of the screwdriver doesnt get caught as it goes from the screw to that ridge, you are now (or at least extremely close to) flush. The only drawback is that its really hard to do with the engine running. Plus they use a very fine threaded screw for the LSN, so you can be flush at many different points.

    Incidentally, Im very disappointed to find that almost every other engine Ive seen on the market has specific settings for all needles. Whereas we get "flush". If flush wasnt so hard to find, I wouldnt mind. But "flush" seems to be very hard to find on these things.........whether it be because of the fine threaded screw, or the fact that its just really hard because its so small. Id really like to hear "1.5 turns out" or something to that effect. By saying "flush", it almost implies that no two carbs will be built the same (i.e. flush on mine could be 1 turn out, flush on yours could be 2 turns, etc), or they cant stand up to having the LSN closed all the way and then backed out.

    Maybe thats just a drawback with a composite carb, I dunno.

    The arrow is pointing at the screw you turn, note the ridge around the screw, and then the ridge thats set out farther around the slide itself. You want the screw head to be flush with the inner ridge (the one thats inset).

    BTW, you should really have some idea of tuning before messing around with this screw. You might not even need to move it at all!! Is the truck not running correctly?

    To get a better idea of "flush" why not get it to where the screw driver doesn't catch and then screw it back in all of the way, counting ho many turns it is. Make a mark so that it is accurate every time. Then you don't have to guess.
