    Setup, Battery, Run Time: Poll

I was just wondering how much bashing time you guys get out of your pedes. My friend was amazed when he saw how long I get.

    intelispeed 12T
    Mag Mayhem

    7 cell 2400 nicd = 20 - 25 min
    6 cell 3000 nimh = 25 - 30 min

this is an average over about 10 cycles with each battery.
I was driving on a track I built
I was only wide open about 20% of the time

Wow, those are amazing run times. Maybe too amazing to be true??
I dont even get close to that with my Brushless which is much more effecient, and its undergeared by about 4 pinion teeth. Though i do know the mag is quite efficient, but not that effecient.

    My setup...

    Hacker B50
    Kontronik controller

GP3300 Matched packs(SxS)- On road(WOT) driving: approx 14-16 mins. Off road, throttle almost always less than full: approx 15-20 mins
The motor is undergeared too, and it never gets very hot at all.
Numbers with my 2400 matched packs would be probobly 2-5 minutes less for each run.

    All these number are approx.

    Peace,
    Jordan

My motor and esc actually stay pretty cool

Its funny with a 7 cell 2400 nicd the ESC gets hotter than the motor

with a 6 cell 3000 nimh the motor gets hotter than the esc

can someone explain this, I know it sounds weird, I've noticed it pretty consistantly.

Since I've been bashing in a more open area my run times have gone down by about 5 min

    7 cell 2400 nicd = 15 - 20 min
    6 cell 3000 nimh = 20- 25 min

No less than 20 minutes and as much as 35 on pavement wide open. I go through motors like a maddog, got lots of burned up ones.

Everything gets hot as **** except the esc. I love it.

I have whimpy 1500 batts. 18-tooth pinion and 87-spur and get around 7-9 minutes.

this is an average over about 10 cycles with each battery
    What exactly are cycles?

I just bought my dad a stampede. Added 5x11 bearings to the wheels and deans plugs on the XL-1 and motor leads. Broke in the STINGER motor on a dremel using trinity comm drops and oiled the bushings. With EPIC 3000 batteries I timed it at 14 minutes on short grass running full throttle.

I seem to change my setup about every week. Not by choice, but because I kill another motor. This is my setup for now:

Stinger armature in Caliber can geared 19/93, a guesstimated low 30's degrees of timing.
    Stock bald Rusty tires
    Duratrax Streak
    SMC GP 3300
    Powerpole Plugs
    lead finner

I, amazingly enough, get an average of 13 and a half minutes of runtime with this setup. I also get wheelies if I have the traction, even small ones in my Rusty. The motor appears to defy physics and passes the 5 second test with only minor burns at the end of a full throttle run, while at the same time providing awsome torque and speed. None of my other motors can come anywhere near passing the five second test after a run. I would advise anyone who has a Stinger lying around unused to open it up and stick it in a good can, the results will surprise you.
It sure seems like sense is no longer common.

How do you kill a motor every week?
