Question Best engine 4 my pede?

I was recently given a nitro stampede and I am not sure how long the trx .15 is gonna last in it. I have been looking for a new engine the past few days and I really don't know what to go with.

I want the engine to have lots of power but yet be sensible for offroad racing at the local track.

    What would you guys suggest?

I suggest the TRX 2.5 It is a high performance enginge that can take a beating plus it is only a 110 bucks! (Plus conversion 37.00)
Now you see me. now you dont!

i really dislike the 2.5 cause of what ive seen at my lhs.
i run a megatech .16 and i love it. it has plenty of pony power for the truck and its not thru RPMs like the 2.5.
besides that, it drops right in WITHOUT a conversion kit and its $100 from most lhs and even cheaper on ebay.

    LOL
just an expression, thats how clean it has to be.
make sure both sides are evenly spaced and well meshed before you put stress on it from the engine

    Thumbs up

OS engines are great and dependable, they have really came down in price as well recently.

like i said go with the mega tech. but the reason that i am posting this is because i found that is you were to put the trx. carb. on the mega tech it is way easer to tune. then after you get used to the way the motor sounds when tune right id go back to the factory carb for the m-16

there isnt anything to bad mouth about the m16. it is very reliable and the factory settings are almost perfect.

    m16

i got hte megatech m16 in my nitro pede.. got it that way used from a buddy of mine. i loooove the power, its just real hard to tune for me - its my 1st nitro car. cant say anything bad about it... i really cant, because i know the reason for it not running well is MY fault for not knowing how to tune. i was thinking abiut throwing a traxxas carb on it, what do you guys think? is the traxxas carb better performing, or is it just easier to tune?

soemtimes it helps to run the trx carb, some people swear that its the best thing to do for it (i dont know, never done it). it cant hurt anything as long as you make sure its blowing blue smoke.
