    Should I buy one?

I will be buying a boat by the end of next month For the sole reason that I need something to pull with my Tmaxx, Problem is I'm not sure what boat to buy.. Whats good?

My LHS is gonna make a good deal on RTR Nitro Vee.

Are they fast? Are there any other RTR that are better then the Vee at the same price range? And Lastly, how do you guys like your Vee's?

If the sole reason for you getting a boat is for being pulled by your T to look kool, I would get the lightest most realistic boat I could find. Reason for it being light so It doesn't tear up your engine in your tmaxx. The Nitro Vee is fast when you first get it but the stock speed is not overwhelming. But they sure are fun to just go out to the lake and drive your boat around.

I guess it;s not the sole reason....But it'd look cool huh?

I had a SwapBuggy before and loved it. But that was from used airplane parts and the kit (60 bucks.)

But now I'm spending over 300 bones on a boat so I would like one that I will enjoy.

How will it handle like waves from real boats (ie: does it jump well?), choppy water, and does it capsize real easy. Also it the plastic hull strong?

I have a nitro vee and I think it is a very good boat! The hull is very strong to day while I was driving it in salt water where there is waves and on this day there was a strong current well the current was so stong that the boat did not have a problem driving through it but it was hard to control and when I was going almost full throttle the current made me crash head on into a big bouyey, the boat launched about 6 inches to one foot into the air and took on a good amount of water but luckley it landed right side up and there was not even a srach on the hull. Nitro vees are not the lightest boat around so go easy on the T-maxx when pulling it and try to stay away from hills. Is it a 2.5 T-Maxx?

have you capsized the boat? and does it right it self?

As far as the jumping the boat I should be more clear. I want a strong boat that I can actually jump. Or would the prop smash?

And Yes I have the 2.5 Tmaxx

I have not capsized and when I crashed today it was a bad crash and if it did not tip or crack the hull it must be a stong and stable boat. I hav notised it does do well in rough water but it does very well on flat water. If you run it in salt water be sure to wash it out with fresh water. and don't use traxxas top fuel if you get one. If you are mosly going to use it to pull you might want to look at the hobbico hammer it is a little faster than the v and it has a fiberglass hull water proof radio box and is cheaper. The V has more nice feature like the cluch, rts ez start drive shaft oiler.

I don't think the Vee is a very good jumper......The little .15 is plenty of power to scoot around a mildly choppy pond, but to go and jump boat wakes........ that takes a little more power than the Vee has. Now if the Vee had a .21 in it!!!!!

You might want to look at something a little bigger than the Vee. Something like the Shockwave with a 23cc gasoline engine. You can pick one up used in good shape for about $500 to $600.

When I first tried to jump the wake on my friends wakeboarding boat, I think my heart skipped a beat. The boat seemed like it was in the air forever. The landing was good but I'll never try that again.

Come to think about I did jump my Vee once a few months ago....... I hit a HUGE chuck of concrete that was about 7 feet from the shore. It was angled under the water and totally out of sight from where I was standing. I unknowingly hit the thing at wide open throttle!!!! It could have been a scene from a James Bond flick!! LOL The Vee hit the concrete just like a ramp so it jumped about 10ft and landed in the grass!! Still running!!

Luckily for me it didn't hurt the Vee just the stock turn fin a bit, but I wouldn't reccommend trying that one!!

That would have been kool if it would have done a barrel rule and landed it.

I chewed up my turn fin and i dont know how. I couldnt figure out why it was spinning out so much so i took it in and the fin was popped up. I might look at getting some double aluminum turn fins or a tuned pipe when i try out my 2.5 with the new water cooled head for it in my NV. The problem with most aftermarket fins is that if you hit somthing its taking the piece of hull its on with it.

I have made my aluminum turn fins to kick up just as the stock plastic fin because it uses the same mounting bracket.

Speed is a big thing also, you see real boats have the insane rooster tails, can you make the Nitro Vee have this?

It'll kick up a rooster tail with the 440 prop.

That's from a web site where the guy and his buddy did like a 24 hour run of the Old Nitro Vee with a .12 in it.

dude I've said once(twice actually) and I'll say it again. The 440 prop doesn't make the boat go any faster.

OK Surfer I know you know your Shizzznit, so give us some facts as to why the X440 will not give you a top speed increase and what the X440 actually does for your boat over the stock prop.

I'm not doubting you, just testin yer thinker!!!

With the Speed, I just want it to go kinda fast, like like the Radio shack boats, or my Swamp Buggy I have with the .40 size airplane engine and propeller..

I want to take it out and the people that may be around go "WOW" "Neat" and "Thats Cool" Stuff like that.

I would also be cool If I could put an addon that would give it an insane Rooster Tail.

That prop has a pictch rate of 1.4 which adds alot of drag and won't have as good top speed as you can get. But what it does is help the boat get on plane a lot faster than stock because it is 40 mm wide and is a brass prop.

I knew ya had it in ya....

So if someone asked you "Whats the best prop to give my Nitro Vee a little more top speed?" What would ya tellm? Also what prop would give you insane top speed, and tell us (please) what you would be sacrificing (performance, damage, ect) by using that prop on your Vee?

    Does that all make sence....

I have the 637 and like it. One day I'll get a little brave and try something like a 737. You might get a little more top end out of it but that is just a guess. I'll have to try.
