This seems to have become an issue for some of you lately. Please don't let it be. The Market Place was created to give you a place to buy, sale, trade, and request Traxxas products ONLY. It is a kind of value added perk to owning a Traxxas product. We do not run a board to advertise other manufacturers products. It is a pretty cut and dried issue that does not need much discussion.
This is the internet so please be cautious when dealing with members. Anything too good to be true normally is. When conducting business over the internet - Please Use Caution. Whenever possible use a payment method that protects you from fraud (i.e., Paypal). As a seller make sure to get a delivery confirmation to protect you from a buyer charge back.
Traxxas will in no way be responsible or liable in any form or fashion should a transaction in Market Place go bad. Please, do not ask any of the Mods/Marshals to get involved with your dealings.
. The Market Place will not be a service for chop shops, or people otherwise buying and selling as some kind of business aka flipping. The MP is for Traxxas users to sell their personal new/used Traxxas products.
. The ONLY parts/hop-ups/accessories that can be sold, traded, requested, or giving away in the Market Place are those of a Traxxas brand ONLY.
. Members that are looking to sell, trade, or give away their Traxxas products must provide their own personal pics, and asking price. Providing this important info at a later time is unacceptable, and the thread will be deleted on the spot without notice. Be considerate of others, make sure you keep your picture size to 640x480 or less. This way the thread easily fits on most monitors and is easier on the dial-up users. This can easily be accomplished with any photo editor.
. The only non-Traxxas products that are allowed for dealing are the products that come with, and will be used with the Traxxas R/C, or full roller in the dealing. Just because it's made for a Traxxas R/C, does not mean it can be sold, traded, or requested in the MP. This means that you can sell your RPM arms with the truck but you cannot sell them in a thread of their own.
. Auction style ads (such as links to eBay) are not allowed unless there is a Buy-it-now price.
. You may not ask members to pay PayPal fee's. That is the cost of doing business, if you have to, include it in the asking price. That is a big turn off for buyers. It is not the buyers responsibility to pay the fees for the type of payment you accept.
. If you are selling a roller, please make sure its an actual roller, and not just few parts non-Traxxas parts connected to a Traxxas chassis. I have seen a few members try to pull this off, and its not allowed.
. Traxxas Goods For Sale/Trade/Wanted: Make sure to describe what you have, or want. Included the condition of items, your location, the price, or trade and what the terms of sale, trade and shipping will be.
. If you want to sell a Traxxas product but you don't have an idea on the going rate, please post a Feeler thread in the sub forums. The MP was not meant for such questions, and helps keeps the clutter down.
. Thread bashing is not allowed, there are No Exceptions!! If you think the price is too high, THEN DON'T BUY IT, or DO NOT COMMENT in the thread.
. Only one thread is needed for member to request, sell, or trade their Traxxas goods. Doing this helps keep the clutter down, and will be easier for you to keep track of the thread.
. Thread Bumping of any sort is only allowed once per a 24 hour period in the Market Place, this also goes for new posted threads. If a member replies on your thread, consider that your BUMP for the day. If you need to edit your thread, but your editing time window is up, just contact one of the MP Marshalls via PM for further assistance.
. If the thread does not belong to you, then there is no reason for you to give out free bumps.
. All threads with a posted of SOLD, TRADED, FOUND, and thread that are UNATTENDED will be deleted. Doing so will keep clutter down, and our forum running smoother.
. Posting links: If you wish to post a link of your items you may do so, but your thread must conform to the above guidelines.
. Members are not allowed to provide their personal manufacturing/painting services in the MP.
. Looking for hand outs is not allowed in the MP.
. The Market Place is not for conversations, we have other sections in the Traxxas forum for that. Do not needlessly clutter threads with chatter, use the PM option.
Your behavior and posting habits in the MP are closely monitored. We will give you warning points and remove your post if you break these rules. If it happens again your Market Place privileges will be removed.
I'm trying to make these rules as simple as possible for all Traxxas forum members.
These rules will be updated as needed.

Tips for selling, and buying in the Market Place
Tips for sellers
• Take PLENTY of pictures of the item you are selling, regardless of value, multiple pictures of different angles will help eliminate problems in the end.
• Always describe the item you are selling to the T. Offer any and all information about the item so there is no confusion to the buyer. List ALL imperfections, no matter how little they are.
• Offer a handling time once payment has been cleared, if you think it may take a few days for you to get everything together to ship, or you may be out of town, always give yourself a couple of days extra. Buyers like getting things early instead of late.
• Ship EVERYTHING with a tracking number and insurance, no matter what it is. If you need to ask a few dollars more in your asking price do so, and explain that "x" amount of dollars is for tracking and insurance.
• Don't ask people to pay PayPal fee's. That is the cost of doing business, if you have to, include it in the asking price. That is a big turn off for buyers. It is not the buyers responsibility to pay the fees for the type of payment you accept.
• Keep in touch with your buyer every day, it is important to most buyers to know that they're not being ripped off. And hearing from you will solve 90% of the problems that could arise.
• Make sure buyers leave you feedback. Feedback = money. I would rather spend 25% more money with someone who has good feedback rather than none. When you sell something, insist on the buyer leaving you feedback.
• The customer is always right! That is the golden rule for selling. If you have gotten yourself into a transaction with an impatient, demanding buyer, just keep that in mind. That's where all your pictures, description, and handling time come into play. If you ever have a PayPal dispute filed against you, all of that will help you.
• Keep records. Always keep PMs, E-Mails, Forum logs, and any receipts you get from the transaction. Be prepared if a buyer accuses you of fraud. Sellers can get scammed too, it's not only the buyers.
• Open a PayPal account. All you need is a checking account, or Credit Card to have a PayPal account. This is a key tool when selling an item. Buyers are skeptical about sending a money order half way across the country to someone they don't know.
• Know your buyer. The buyers feedback is important too. Check them out! If they are impatient buyers, and highly demanding, it may be worthwhile to wait for the next person.
Tips for buyers
• Pay with PayPal. Regardless of feedback history of the seller. It is MUCH easier to get your money back on a transaction using PayPal. It's not hard for a seller to set up a PayPal account.
• Request thorough pictures and descriptions of the item you are buying, avoid surprises and know what you are buying. If the seller can't take pictures of the item they are describing, I would question the condition of the item. Digital cameras are cheap these days, no excuses.
• If there is something you want from the seller, tell them. Don't expect the seller to ship the item the exact way you would. If you want bubble wrap instead of newspaper, let it be known, offer a couple of extra dollars for whatever shipping supplies you want.
• Find out when the seller will ship it. Don't assume the seller will ship the following day, ask. Get your ducks in a row. Things come up, people work, sometimes it just doesn't work out how you want.
• Keep records of all PMs, E-Mails, and Forum logs. If a dispute is needed, have all of the conversations that have taken place available.
• Check feedback on the seller. Don't buy from a seller that has 0 feedback and get upset when it takes 5 days to get the item. Google is your friend. Google the persons user name, real name, phone number, address, or anything you can. Especially sellers who have little or no feedback. If they can't provide you with feedback, question them.
• Talk with your seller on the phone, if they're selling you something, they shouldn't have a problem talking with you on the phone. Not only does this let you hear how the seller sounds, it also gives you information on the seller in case something goes wrong.
• Be patient. There is nothing more annoying to a seller than an impatient buyer. If you have follow these steps, you shouldn't have to E-Mail the seller every day for a tracking number.
• Settle on the price before you pay. Both the seller and buyer should agree on the asking price. If a dispute is needed, price of the item should not be an issue.
• Leave feedback for your seller. It is very important for a buyer to leave feedback for a seller. It is how they attract buyers. Feedback is not as important for buyers, simply because if you pay for it, you pay for it.
General tip for buying/selling on forums.
• Get to know the person you are doing business with. If you are questionable about the person at all, don't buy it.
• If you expect a certain term from the buyer or seller, it needs to be ironed out before any funds are transferred.
• Be patient. This is the number one killer for all transactions. The seller has no control of the item once it leaves the post office. Normal post office times are 3-5 days, but that doesn't mean it can't take 6-10 days. Give the item time to arrive, and don't assume the seller is scamming you. If you have done your homework, and followed the steps above, you should have nothing to worry about.
• Use Tracking numbers and buy insurance! Insurance is cheap! Why would you buy anything and not have insurance put on it! This assures you that if you receive an item damaged, or not as described, you CAN get your money back!

This is an updated Picture Posting tutorial. I've added a few things to the original post by Misbehavin' and working with him have come up with this updated version.
Lately we have been flooded with requests of how to post a picture into a thread or post. Therefore I'm going to break it down nice and simple (I hope).
1) First you need a web host to upload the pictures to. You cannot link to a picture that is stored locally on your computer. If you can, then you have a worse problem than posting pictures and I suggest you visit another forum tailored to computer interests.
The site you need to upload to must allow external linking from other sites. Your ISP may also provide you some web space, and is often the best choice.
Other hosting sites you might want to try:
RCPics You can only link from here. Direct posting isn't allowed.
Note that the sites above were suggested by forum members. Image hosting sites often change what they allow you to do for free. So it's possible in the future that they may prevent pictures from showing up on the forums.
2) Create your account on the host of your choice and upload your pictures. Note the actual web address of the image you wish to link to from the forums. To do this you can right click on the picture and select properties if you are using Internet Explorer, you can highlight the web address. Note, however, that all of the address may not be showing so you may have to scroll while highlighting the address. Then right click on the highlighted address and select copy.
3) Now to the forums. Start a new post or thread(don't forget most of the forums already have a Gallery thread) and click on the IMG button in the menu that's above the area where you type in your post. Right click in the resulting box and select paste. After doing that select OK. Your post should now contain something similar to the following.
Note that your picture location will be different than shown above.
4) That's all there is to it. When you submit your post or thread, you should see your picture if you have followed the above steps correctly.
A few other things about posting pictures.
When posting pictures please use the "enter key" between them. This will stack the pictures in a column instead of a long line messing up the width of the forum.
Keeping the text in a separate line also helps with the width.

Also if anyone else has any free picture hosts that you can externally link to, PM them to a mod of that forum. One of us will add them to the list above. Mis' and I each host our own stuff and we would be hard pressed to list more than a couple of free hosts as we don't use them.
