Speed only counts if you can make the next turn.

25 = Automatic Idle Speed (AIS) motor driver circuit shorted or target idle not reached.
Also look for a vacum leak.

26 = Peak injector circuit voltage has not been reached (need to check computer signals, voltage reg, injectors).
Make sure that you have a good clean conection to the injectors.

52 = Oxygen sensor stuck at rich position.
Check the sensor and take a look at the breather tube that goes to the catalytic converter for it can cause the sensor to read an over rich condition if it is broken or leaking.

    Note:
Also a code 52 can be an Internal logic module fault. (found on the 84 turbo models) .

If you need any more codes just let me know.

red_sox58 they are talking about engine codes from a scope or test device from the service plug from a real car.they hook a test meter up and it reads the codes to see why the car will not start up!!

That's it. Newer cars have a computer that controls just about everything that the engine does from fuel supply to timing.

You really do not need to pay a mech high dollors to test a cars computer if you know how to do it.

Take an 88 Dodge such as this guy is working on.
You can read the codes any time that you want just by using the key switch. Just switch the key on, off, on, off, on within 5 seconds (that is on and not start). The codes will be flashed through the "service/check engine light".

For example say code 23 would be FLASH FLASH (2) (pause) FLASH FLASH FLASH (3) (loong pause).
That would tell you that the Incoming air temperature sensor may be bad.
This could cause your car to be hard starting on a cold morning by telling the computer that the engine is hot and it does not need much fuel. Then it could cause the engine to run bad by giveing it to much fuel when hot by telling the computer that the engine is cold.
Knowing the codes and what sensor it is assigned to, along with what the sensor does, can save you tons of money when your car will not run right.

The 2.2/2.5 is a good engine. But hard on Head gaskets.
