yes the m16 i've heard is a powerhouse, that is if u get a "good one." I've heard that some poeple get good ones, and others get lemons. I don't know if this happens anymore. I almost got one, from my lhs, which is the megatech dealership. They'd probly give me a new one if it was a dud. Do a search.

I've got an M16 also. I bought one when they first came out.(around '98 or so) I am very pleased with the overall quality/performance/price of this engine. If someone blew it up in a week, they must have been doing something wrong. It is very easy to blow up something and then blame it on the equipment. (y'know like - "I wasn't going that fast when I hit the pole and the whole front end shattered" or "I wasn't running the engine too lean, and it was only for a couple of tanks....")
Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?

    Agreed!
But if the majority of people are happy, you can safely ignore the whiners. No doubt, there could be some bad ones out there - but I think the vast majority of premature engine failures (of any brand) are due to user error. I've blown up engines in the past, and just about every single one was my fault - not the fault of the manufacturer. The only one that was a design defect was an old OS CZ-1 engine. The conrod design was very weak, and the motor let loose after a gallon of fuel. The replacement rod was "beefed up" quite a bit, and the engine has been fine ever since. I don't bash OS because of this, the CZ-1 was their first generation of CZ car engines - and they were using the same rod as the airplane engines, which don't rev nearly as high.

see, companies make mistakes too, but majority of the time its user error like you said or just flat out accelerated wear because the user. i know my pro15 lasted a long time and im happy with that. im always helping guys with the "should i rebuild the pro15 or go to 2.5" i always tell them the pro15 was the most reliable engine ive seen here, all the 2.5s were a real pain to start and keep running.

drag asked where you lived not me :P but he'll read that.

the only cons i can think of is that the carb can be inconsistant sometimes and mine tends to be a rattle box. ive had more exhaust screws fall outta this w/ this engine than the pro15.

break in just follow instructions. but i added a idle tank to first on the list

He is saying berfore you break it in. Let the engine idle for the first tank, just to get it running.
    What lhs u got to?

dragster kinda explained what i ment well. gj drag.
the reason behind that is so the engine gets lube up before you hit rpms.
