Winter studs ?
Has anyone tried screws or bolts in their tires on ice or snow. My rustler is crazy on snow (uncontrolable). I don't need oil or soap or anything to do donuts, but I would like to go straight. I have bald original rustler tires with screws in them but havn't used them yet,I'm waiting for the right surface conditions. Has anyone tried this ?

No, I've never tried it but I would be careful on what kind of surface that you plan on running it on. If you drive it on pavement or anything hard, it might affect your transmission and other internal parts if it creates additional shock loads on the driveline.

I had the same problem on ice... I put small hex screws in my tires and it worked good... be careful where you run incase you lose some on the street, etc....

I never tried driving on ice but for snow i use Proline's Sand paw tires.

If yuo guys want a way to run on snow and ice without putting holes through yuor tires what i did was took to strips of ducktape put them together and stuck thumb tacks thrugh it and put them on ALL 4 TIRES. Then yuo take rubberbands and put 2 round eachtire so they stay on. then you start her up and go flying across the ice just like you do on the street see ya guys

Sounds like that might just work Alex, I'll have to try that if we ever get more snow!

It works very well! And most of the stuff you probily have laying around the house! Goodluck with it and have fun

Oh yeah i replace the ducktape and thumbtacks about every 10 to 15 runs.

be VERY careful with sticking tacks/nails/screw into the tires the increased traction may destroy the gears in your tranny.

i used small rofing screws and they worked well but i took a little longer screw and ran it from the inside out and it worked better but then i made tire chains for my rustler and they worked the best.
