    lemans23,

I watched the DVD when I first got mine, it says to twist it off at an angle and it should come off. You do not want to take the whole thing off, just the AIR FILTER itself. Thats how I do mine. I hope this helps.
    Thank You,

Cut the zip tie off. When you replace the cleaned filter assembly use a new zip tie.

You do not want to take the whole thing off, just the AIR FILTER itself.
You remove the whole thing. It's much easier. That's also the way the book and the DVD shows it being performed.

To clean it, take the larger portion of the cone off, the plastic pice, and pull the foam out. its harder to take out the foam though the little hole, and waste a zip tie all at the same time. i do the twist off at a angle method

That's what I do, however I find it's much easier to pull the cone and the hose off the carb body in one piece, and then pull the cone off to access the filter. It's much easier to assemble the whole thing back together if it's all off the truck. Trying to put the cone part back on while having the hose part still on the carb seems to take twice as long. At least for me anyway, and I also figure that's the reason the book and the DVD take that route as well.

I tried taking mine off, and it would not come off with the zip tie on it. I had to cut the zip tie before it would come off.
