2.5 Pede? OH YEAH it can be done!!!

Just a teaser pic. Still have a few things to do but it is all mounted in there. I need to get the linkage done, fuel filter, turn the air cleaner around, change the shock tower, and break it in. Hopefully this week but we have a lot going on here.

No conversion kit. I pulled the engine off a new Maxx and am selling the rest of it on Ebay in pieces. I had the pipe(AE #7730) and I can't say on the header part #5287.

You probably should use the conversion kit. The 2.5 should be available early next year for individual sale I would think.

I didn't want to wait for the conversion kit or the engine to come available.

I will do a full write up on the install once the the truck is done. My new shock tower came in today(Thanks Roy!!) and I need to hook up the linkage still. That was going to be the hardest part but I think I've got it figured out after looking at IAMIs Rustler pics.

    2.5

You are gonna have a hard time keeping that thing on the ground. The 2.5 is a handfull in my T-Maxx. It will make the N-Pede ballistic. I might throw my 2.5 in my Pede when the headers are a little more readily avaiable. I'll expect you to end up with a handfull of broken drivetrain parts.

I hope so. I won't be able to break it in until next week though. I won't have time. I was hoping to today but it rained and I need a servo horn that the lhs doesn't have.

Probably going to be stupid fast. The only things I have left to do is install a fuel filter and hook up the linkage. I've had to order the filter and servo horn is part of why I am waiting until next week.

I'm glad you got it fixed. Don't run into any more curbs.

I'm down until Monday at the earliest. The Maxx runs but can't run nothing being just me and the kid until then.

ok, mike, where did u get the header?? lol what did u do, steal it off a 2.5 nitro 4-tec or 2.5 nitro rustler? or do u have someone inside TRAXXAS getting u parts?? Like I heard that the nitroChicken dude was giving out TRX 2.5 to Graphite and people.

I didn't pull the header off of anything. I just can't say where it came from. I deal with lots of people. I will say this. I did not get it the same way as everybody else.

Great project man I wanna see this.

As for all you guys who wanna know where that header came from, some people have their sources. If you got connections you can get parts before everyone else. The man got the header we shall leave it at that. It's such a miniscule thing. But I do wanna know, but it can wait till later.

Well I've got the linkage done, new rear regular shock tower since I don't have the stinger on it, and new fuel filter. That was what I needed. Break-in is tomorrow. I hope it doesn't rain. High 60's with a small chance of it. Gonna be the best day for the next week.

I'll post how it does, new pics, and what I did to install it.

How long is the servo horn on Roy's pede here because I couldn't get one that long at my lhs. So I modified my stock servo horn which should be long enough. I got all my linkage parts the other day to set up my os .15cv but still looking for a horn like roy's here.

I have the original horn on there for now. I have one like Roy's coming. It looks a little weird but it was working good on the bench(after I changed the servo).

tex - The one from you was just as long as the stock one on the throttle side. Thanks anyway.

Going to break it in as soon as I get off here.

    hey mike

When you get a servo horn like Roy's tell me how long it is, i'll compare it to the stock one. Tonight I put my os .15cv-x up to the pede where i guessed it would mount and it looks like the stock horn will be long enough. I just had to cut the stock brake portion of it off. Tonight I also filed my brand new motor mounts out to fit the OS. The front adjustment motor mount plate comes bent upward; I thought I had bent my last one and tryed bending it back last night. Eventually snapping it in two by accident. This should be a good motor but I don't know how it would do up against a trx 2.5?
