i dont want to see it!

ok im not complaining im just steering this in the direction, i dont like seeing people being mocked for their equipment, pipe, engine and truck its not kind and noone wants to see it, so in future i think that we should exept what people have and also respect their opinion as to why they have it, you dont allways know best.

i will probably get flamed for this but hey.

    c ya

    Well you will see it.
New people have not been into the hobby long enough to gain knowledge of what works and what does not. They make the mistake of listening to people that has everyone bluffed into thinking that they know everything about every product that has ever been made for RC's. That is the biggest mistake that a new guy makes. Listening to people like that.
If a new guy installs an AE RC10gt tuned pipe on their truck. Well it is the greatest thing that they ever saw and will reccomend it highly over better pipes. Just because they do not know better. Why? Because it is the only tuned pipe that they have experience with. If they were to go out and try a few others like an Ofna, Trinity or a Paris. They would learn quickly that the AE pipe is not all that. Because it is tuned for a lack luster engine like the Thunder Tiger that lacks everything when it comes to preformance. While Ofna, Trinity and Paris tune their pipes for high preformance engines and better output. A guy being new does not have the knowledge of such things. All they know is that the AE pipe makes a differant sound than the stock plastic pipe. And then thinks that his truck runs better. When in fact you can get the same preformance results with a stock pipe just by removing the baffle.
Until they start trying other products. What they have is the best in their eyes and they will knock anyone that has anything other than what they use. That is just the way it goes. They will grow up and start respecting other people choices of what they use.

Yes, it's an interesting topic this one. I think David has a valid point, although Les really speaks of reality and how it works in real life. I also don't like to see it, but unfortunately it will happen.

    Hopefully, the least the better.

    Hi guys-

Les, wasn't the AE pipe designed before the company started using the TT RTR engine?

My general rule is to give my opinion if someone asks for advice, but I'm pretty good to point out that they need to do their homework also. The best thing to do is try to use the product in question, or at least see it in action. What works for me may not work for others.

What I can't stand is when people have never actually OWNED a product, but they talk TRASH about it every chance they get without ever having TRIED it for themselves. This kind of short-sightedness can really slow down progress.

    Later guys-

Well, I agree totally with Les, while it may be harsh, it is the sad truth. You will always run into people in life who think they know everything there is to know. You will be much better off if you can learn to identify these types of people so you will be able to avoid there innocently harmful advice.

Since we are referrencing pipes, I gotta throw this in just cause of what I stand for! Give the Trinity pipe a try, it will amaze you. Instant wheelies, even with the TRX Pro .15.

    Oh, one more thing....

Les, I must respectfully disagree with you on one of your statements...

IMHO, with everything else being equal the TRX stock pipe, even with the baffle removed, will not give equal performance to the AE pipe. I've found that they both yield about the same top-end performance, but the AE beats the TRX in bottom and mid-ranges.

As for the new TRX 2.5... Man am I impressed! There are a couple of the new Maxx's at the local track and the improvement over the Pro. 15 powered (and even the Collari and OS) Maxx's is unbelievable.

Actually, I technically own about 5% of a 2.5 engine...

A guy at the track Sat. decided he wanted to set up a ramp and try to clear the most narrow section of the track. Well, he fell about 6 feet short, and landed on his lid HARD, and shattered his cooling head almost all the way down to the case. I kept a bunch of the pieces to the cooling head, so I do own part(s) of a 2.5, lol.

    It was a sad/scary/funny site-

So, Pokey, does that mean it has only 5% of the normal performance?

You completely missed the point of nrustler-man2's post.
A guy buys something and puts it on his truck.
That guy then turns around and starts knocking everyone that does not use what he has and calling what someone else has junk and such.

If I choose to use Picco engines. That is MY choice. Not yours. So why would you make it a point to turn around and call my choice of engines junk and garbage?

    Les-

I don't think I missed nrustler-man2's point at all. Hmmm, lets see...

    He said....

"i dont like seeing people being mocked for their equipment, pipe, engine and truck its not kind and noone wants to see it"

    I replied...

"My general rule is to give my opinion if someone asks for advice, but I'm pretty good to point out that they need to do their homework also. The best thing to do is try to use the product in question, or at least see it in action. What works for me may not work for others. "

    Then I further stated...

"What I can't stand is when people have never actually OWNED a product, but they talk TRASH about it every chance they get without ever having TRIED it for themselves"

I think I was right along nrustler-man2's original statement.

Then in my second post I simply disagreed with your statement that the stock TRX pipe with the baffle removed will give you the same performance as the AE pipe. Thats just my opinion though.

Hope I cleared up any misunderstandings-

I have to agree with Jeremy on this. The guy knows what he is talking about. I took his advice and am very happy I did. I couldn't be happier with the AE pipe, and yes, I am almost a newbie with cars, but I know nitro and I AM in school for Aerospace Engineering (rocket science), so everyone's opinions should be respected, because an opinion can neither be right nor wrong.
