gearing?

i need some help with gearing my car. I have a xxx-s with a reedy rage type r(yes ironic isnt it?) ive got a 24t pinion on the motor and the stock spur gear (not sure what it is) if i get a smaller spur will the car have better accel and top end or lower? I need to know if i need a larger or smaller gear. I want fast accel with a good top end.

Your gearing is a trade off. If you want lower gearing then you need a smaller pinion gear, or a larger spur gear. This will give you better power but slower top end.
If you want higher gearing then you need a larger pinion gear or a smaller spur gear. This will have less power for off road and in grass, but will have higher top end speeds if the engine does not bog.
