Whats up drivers,
I'm just sort of looking for some feedback here... I've run 1 gallon through my rustler. about 3 weeks ago it started giving me a lot of problems, starting it and keeping it running. It starts OK but dies quickly, sometimes when I remove the glow plug warmer and sometimes when I open the throttle for the first time. Once I can get it running and warmed up, it seems to be fine- but this has been taking 30 minutes of starting it and having it die over and over.
I thought it might have been my exhaust, but just to make sure, I just did sort of a full overhaul. Here's what I did:
-new AE pipe, perfect fit header, new gaskets and coupler.
-new shims under cooling head (left the thinnest one out)
-new mcCoy mc9 glow plug
-all new fuel tubing- thinner tubing for a tight fit on fittings
-removed fuel filter (maybe it was clogged?)
-cleaned out engine, carb, HS needle out with carb cleaner spray.
-sealed base of carb and base of HS needle nut with RTV.
-reset carb to factory setings.
-raised idle as much as possible, without having the car scoot forward while idling.
-re-charged batteries in my EZ-starter and separate glow-plug warmer.
Still starts like
What I'm wondering: My fuel is the last pint of 1 gallon, monster trinity %20, first opened maybe in April. I keep it outside, keep it capped, but the jug has been 3/4 empty now for 2 months. Could it be that my fuel has gone bad?
Any other ideas?
