Short grass works ok. I wouldn't do it a whole lot though. Long grass only works if you hit it already at speed. Maybe it would be better if you remove shock limiters to raise it.

After reassembling the diff enough times it works. I'm not touching that thing again if I can avoid it.

No go on that fix. I can either tighten the screws down to where the diff locks up, or back them off until it spins freely. Backing the screws off introduces the wobble. Maybe I'm missing something...

Find really smooth concrete thats either wet or dusty. Lower traction makes it easy to learn. Then transferring to higher grip surfaces you just learn to use a bit more throttle.

I also tried fairly smooth cement. Didn't traction roll, but didn't slide easily either. All the rough surfaces are covered with snow currently.

Just tried Slash tires today. Works much better than stock for ice and up to 1/2" snow.

I've always charged my large NiMHs at around 3 amps. Will that speed work on the small guys, or should I dial the charger back a bit?

Untested idea: Cut up a low grit sanding belt, and glue onto tires. Itd be cheap and easy to test.
