Are you sure you didn't use a weedwhacker motor in that?
Nah, really tho, it looked pretty fast. You could make it look even faster if you sped up the vid like you did the first half of the vid. :)
The 3500 is an inexpensive, tough, powerhouse of a motor and is often underestimated. In comparison to a 4pole is kinda like apples to oranges. I really like mine. I feel confident gearing my 1/16 to...
The problem I ran into using the stock brushed mount is the cast material likes to strip very easy. I've run the stock brushless motor plate with no issues. There is, however, a bit of flex to it...
Somewhere, maybe on here, I read something about Leopard motors and running 8s. Does anyone know anything about these setups?
In most cases, ground/black or the darker wire usually goes to the outside of the receiver.
That's good to know. I'll have to look into the Lehner and do some research. What is shulz fut-xxl-40.333WK?
I've never been one much for bling or shelf queens. More about function and...
I realize they are ultimate in their own right, but what would it take to make it truly the baddest it could be? I ask for very real reasons too. When I get bored with my 1/16 scales and want to go...
If youtube didn't exist, there wouldn't be anyone to impress (or un-impress...)
I'm sure he lost over half his speed when he went right into the 45 degree... Probably did more damage doing that...
Just a thought, if you run a parachute, maybe deploy it while under full throttle to keep the stability. Then after it inflates slowly decel...
That's a pretty good idea. I might adapt this to my speedster. Did you consider just using the same type rockers as the rear? All 4 the same size all the away around.
I did the same thing, only I had to go the metal cvd route. Even the merv shafts were twisting out of their homes. :( I swapped the rockers out for the merv rockers. I lost a bit of ground clearance...
I looks like you trimmed a stock chassis fab'd your own chassis lower. Pretty cool. What material did you use and what type of mold (if any) did you fashion it after? Would the double gray springs...
The 7,700 kv will run really hot unless you gear way down. That and you are limited to 2s. It's better to run a low kv motor and get good batteries with a high C rating so your motor/esc will be...
Though it may seem counter productive, you might consider drilling relief holes in the under plate allowing debris to exit easier than it enters...
Don't know the specs offhand but it's better to go too thin than too thick. I put in 2 very thin spacers and it seems just about right. If there's any friction (more than usual) then you went too...
What Jimmie said about toe. TRUE.
To the OP, when you use the word "Violently" it almost sounds like a bearing is bad and only noticeable at high speed. Otherwise I would say check your rear...
I recommend strapping the front, and either heavy diff oil (80) in the rear or just locking them...You didn't mention if you are doing speed runs...Are you?
Watch your temps! The 5700's will heat up pretty quick unless you gear down. The temps get hot fast too! No more than 180F.
Jimmie, what is the part number and mfg of your shocks/springs? Is this the "big bore" setup? I need these for my summit and my top speed rig.Thx
FYI, if you put too heavy of an oil in the rear, it will cause it to act like a posi. I've just discovered that it's not a good thing (unless you gear down for crawling). I actually used the Traxxas...
