VXL 3S heatsink with fan, FLM aluminum transmission and motor heat sink with fan = run it anyway you want to and stay cool doing it
Only one way to settle this... MEASURE IT! Try the fan blowing both ways, run it the exact same way for the exactly same length of time and measure the temps to see which way is more effective. ...
Get one of each 2S and 3S
to each his own. I get so much satisfaction out of trying to keep the car in shape with all the torque I have now. I enjoy that aspect, it might not appeal to everyone, but there is no right or...
Kinda harsh criticism man, they've been in business a long time...
VXL System first, then 3S lipo next christmas. Upgrades done
Frank the Tank! That sounds like a nice little saturday
Good info, thank you 1fastmr2
Does going 1/8 scale shocks bump it out of stock class rules like OP was asking about?
I have an integy heat sink with fan and love it, use a little thermal paste and it really helps keep those temps down!
Exactly, just drill it out a little larger, go to home depot and buy a longer screw with a lock-washer and secure it with a locknut and some loctite, and it will never back out.
what exactly is the point? Monster trucks are not supposed to sit low, they're all about ground clearance and big tall suspension setups, etc. A bit counterintuitive to begin a MT project with a...
Depends on the wind of the motor... Some stock classes allow 17.5 turn brushless setups to compete with stock titans. They wouldn't allow this if it gave a huge unfair advantage in speed.
Nevermind, I just cut that piece with a dremmel, so not i don't have to worry about buying a standoff either. Its plenty strong without it anyways....
In the process of installing the RPM bumper mount onto the FLM just like this pic. Question how the bleep to I do this and find room for my integy heatsink with fan?! Please help, has anyone been...
Its not going to be a drastic jump if you are already using Lipo. Most people will notice quicker throttle response, and more even torque curve, which when running on a track does make a big...
Hobby King has great deals on 3S. I have a hobby king nan0 tek 50C 5000 Mah I pickup for under $40 shipped. If you go 3S, you WILL break more parts, but you will have more fun with your truck
Depends on what voltage level they are at, hence the need for a cheap voltage meter.
If you are still running the same NIMH or 2S lipo battery, you might not see a huge improvement in outright speed. Now switch to a higher output battery like 3S and thats where the brushless setup...
Are there other rally style bodies available that would fit this size chassis?
If you are wanting a grease/fluid that will let you run just before total lock (bad horsie, 300K, etc), you wont need a sealed diff. Once you open up a package of this stuff you will look at it and...
Okay, thanks. Yeah I did see that one but just assumed that since it had a different center hole size that it was meant for the 4WD system only.
Its not the number of cells, its the voltage output. You will get 11.1 volts out of a 3 cell lipo, 7.4 out of 2 cell lipo. 11.1 volts is a huge burst of power over 7.4, makes all the difference
Very good info, I wish AE made high torque pads for the 2wd, if they do, I can't find them...
I run an ESC that I know has a LVC, and I still use a low voltage alarm, you can't be too careful. (They're only 3 bucks)
