Hobbywing 150a esc with ********* 6pole 2650kv motor is what i have in mine. Also had the same esc with a Tacon 1800kv that worked well too.

I'm running a mmp/********* 2650 6pole in my sl4sh, 19/54. Going to try a 21 or 23 soon though. Plenty cool on 19/54 running 3s. I dont have any 4 or 5 s packs....yet ;)

I have a hw 150a esc on my emaxx and run with either a tacon 1800 or ********* 2650 6pole! Either way, it works great!

Mmp/2400 . Or, i have a ********* 2650 i just installed with an mmp on my sl4sh. Seems really fast, torquey, and cool. Its a 6 pole. I also have the same 6pole 2650 with a hw 150a esc in my eMaxx....

The old platinum came With an esc and motor also, just no tx/rx. You can always sell the vxl System to help fund your build.

OUCH! That stinks. Take your time grieving, and then rebuild. It does show those of us that haven't driven one, the extreme danger and skills required. Along with a huge amount of space.

2s is 8.4 volts. So two in series = 16.8, or too much fur the vxl-3m

Looks like you knew by where you posted buy I'd say a pede vxl is a great place to start. Put it in training mode till he/she is ready and begging for more power ! Or a pede 4x4 vxl if you want...

I'm sure its the vxl with lipo battery/charger. I'm just not sure on the body? Is it a regular short course robby Gordon body or the hummer style one? Maybe wait and see?
