    I think the Summit parts need to be stronger(Aluminum, Steel , or whatever),But I do think the slipper should slip before something breaks. Thats what it was made for.

    The pin is held in by a little set screw in the middle. Most of the time they break where the pin goes through.
    I have heard good and bad about Mip and HR so I cant help on that one.

    I would bet money that you have broken spider gears in the diff. They are fairly cheap to replace.
    I would advise you to upgrade the diff. This is a common problem with the summit.
