I hope the failure was not on the case, because I like the design so much.

Love those pics. You should stand behind the Hawk (black and white Foto maybe) and your son behind the VXL.
Me too have both of the cars, but I don't have a son.
Yes, you are right someway.
The sway bar is just adding spring rate at the moment, when the car tend to roll in turn, but the shocks are funktioning normally, if both wheels are in same level.
I...
Steering damper (stabilizer) works differently.
As I said Mercedy has used this kind of sway bar on the rear.
Somebody had the idea to build a sway bar for the Rustler.
So I tried to make some conventional sway bars for the Rustler - but they are ugly anyhow.
I remember that some old Mercedies had some...
If you had a MIP CVD, you could also use the HPI MT2 axle carriers. They are always two pairs of the: one with one degree and the other with 2 degree. You have to enlarge the holes with 3.3mm drill...
I also use Jato rims and the Talons.

Depends on what batteries you are going to use.
For 6 cells (matched and zapped) or 2s Lipos would be the 7700kv
For 3s 5700kv.
I have them all.
O, sorry. That's right, I mixed it up with the front.
The same one as Bandit and N-Rustler do.
Using Bandit's A-arms or RPM N-Rustler A-arms as SRT does, will keep the width.

Still use the stock chassis - laminated with CF-Foil.
Custom made CF- shock towers and ESC mount, Yokomo battery strap, RPM-Lusnford turn buckles, Tamiya TA-04 bellcrank (# 53478), RPM gear cover,...
Wow, that looks great. I wish i could get another one.
I love the Blue Eagle; it handles really fantastic.
Here is mine.

I made some...
I have a TRX Blue Eagle with Bandit Body and a Rustler with Baja Champ body.

This is how i made mine.

Last but not least a good battery, that can give the amperage punch needed.
Swami sells aluminum hex screws set for the Rustler.

I cutted the upper part of the stock shock tower and fastened the CF-plate on it with four screws.
I did, not completely the same, but took the idea from it.

I know somebody, who built the SRT out of fibreglass and delrin.
That's a lot easier to work with than CF.
I use the same gear box as SRT's to built mine....
The problem would be, that the Xl-5 is using 2.8" rims.
As long as know there is still no Bow Tie for the rim yet.
So maybe you should buy some 2,2" to have bigger choice.
Try one of these: Bow...
The new Stampede rear tires would be nice, but don't get the old one, they will make your Rustler like an hover craft.
All Novak ESCs are sensor based, and the only one that can handle up to 14c is the HV 6,5.

Some people have the Mamba Max already....
you should wait for a while, officially(on June 15th) the Mamba Max is being released.
It is the cheapest ESC, that can handle 12 cells for the Feigao 540L on the market right now.
Mamba Max ...
