I had the same problem with a 3s battery from Hobby King.
This is what i did as 2 other friends of mine and works perfectly.
You can just warm the battery tray just where the 2 battery cables go...
We are 3 friends having slash and racing eachother.
We are looking for other bashers , racers with slashes in greece to have fun!
For all the others from other countries and particular friends...
You can do all this or one at a time to see the deference:
- 2.5 to 3 points of negative camber back
- move the shocks in the outer hole of the a-arm back
- put 2 big spacers in the rear shock...
Put 2 Teflon washers one in each side of the axle.
Traxxas stampede rears chrome is a good choice for the "retro" look.
As for tires it depends on where you are running and what you like. But there are a lot of 2.2 tire choices.

I'll stick with tho stock ones having the cluch litlle loose and keep the ride high normal. If they still brake...

Make the 70/30 throttle ajustment in your transmiter. It helps me alot
Check also the 2 o-rinngs inside the shock. They have to be lubricated to work fine. Also their condition is a think....
