FWIW. I'm really happy with my the VX G3 3s 5000s too. Crazy torque.
Thanks guys I'm really happy with it. Just going to grab some balsa wood to mockup some motor mounts that will work with my 4 screw tank. I had a message into Scott(billytrucks) via eBay. He thought...
Nice. That's a good motor. In general I've had really good luck with OS.
Here's everything together. Just sorting out motor mounts and she'll be ready to go. I found a guy nearby who happened to have some custom machined/polished wheels and added some proline...
I had MIPs on mine for several years with 8 spyder diffs. Have no idea what part number though. I just measured them and they are roughly 163mm including the axle.
Yep troutfisher is right. 1 tooth on a pinion is like 3 on a spur.
measure with a ruler or calipers the delta...how short you are. Add it to the exisiting length and verify the length with the LHS prior to purchase.
I usually tighten hand tight with a deep socket. 10mm if memory serves. No locktite required.
Awesome. Running a Hitec, so I should be good. Thanks.
@wildman—Are the flat metal pieces that merry to the top of the servo a part you made or bought and is the horn part number 5345X? Just getting ready to hook mine up.
I've had the same titanium skids on my truck for several years without them bending. They have some scratches, but still look really nice.
Thanks. Not sure what tire/wheel combo I'll go with. I'll probably go with the wheels that were on it originally. Some photos attached of the previous build.
...
I'm sure they smelled delicious ;)
Good catch Snook man.
We have all been there. Yep I remember one time I swapped my diffs and had the rear in upside down...just wasn't paying attention. Started the truck up and the front was...
Hmmm..originally it was a 2.5, since twice converted to 21 based setup. I don't honestly remember what I paid. Since have purchased (2) 1/16 eRevo, one converted to a 7700kv MM on 3S (1) Revo 3.3 (1)...
I've had good luck with towerhobbies, amainhobbies, stormerhobbies. I'm sure there are others.
Hmmm...I'd confirm the following:
length of the turnbuckles, should be shorter than the rears
make sure the once everything is tightened down that steering posts when snugged up to the skid plate...
I usually pure a little fuel or denatured into a small tupperware container and dip the bristles of a 2-4 inch wide paintbrush and just jab the entire car. Just redip the brush and work the brush...
servo horn stripped, servo saver? Maybe download the front assembly PDF and confirm everything is screwed together properly.
Looks really nice.
Just know that the black chrome wheels change colors when you boil them.
Depends on what you are trying to achieve with parts...
For cleaning: Denatured alcohol, nitro fuel with paintbrush, nitro cleaning spray. You will hear lots of responses.
Maybe just me but I always go into my LHS and tell them what the truck is advertised for elsewhere, and 9 times out ten they will reduce their price. It can come back ten fold when you are trying to...
probably a stupid question, but are the screws too long...maybe they are hitting the arms.
@troutfisher9—Thanks.
Here's are some shots of the body I just won on ebay.
I'll run it with another body, but I'll have this one while it is hanging out in the garage. All of my trucks I pretty...
