I'm running stock gearing 19/86 with 2s, 35a ESC and a 4300kv with great bashing results.
These bolted right on for me. Love them. I only had the stock tires before and the car struggled a bit in grass, loose dirt and unorganized terrain with lots of loose debris (pine cones). Big...
I like the swami-rc bar.

These tires sure improved my off-road performance significantly!

Thank you both
Hi,
I ordered a set of these. The front tires are huge compared to the stock XL5 Alias tires. I was hoping someone could confirm for me they will fit (front and back) before I open the package?

What is the benefit of a 2.4 transmitter?
The XL-5 has bushings in the carriers (mine did); I replaced them with bearings.
Thank you all!
I am curious if any of you are running a nitro car or rustler. I was wondering what the performance differences are compared to a VXL running 2s?
I would agree with that Dad, my warranty or customer service expectations would be considerably different if I paid for a premium setup. I would not expect much after 30-60 days on the budget brands....
+1. Stupid fast! Get ready to order more parts.
My BL setup was $70 for the ESC and motor (hobbywing 35a/9t 3650 4300kv); I've had no problems with it and it is a HUGE upgrade in power and speed from the Brushed 12T. I did spend another $100 on...
I've been using a hobbywing 35a / 9T 3650 4300kv combo for a few weeks and really enjoy it. Reliable thus far! I've nothing to compare it too other than the 12T/550 I had prior (XL-5). Worlds of...
Maybe try some loc-tite?
beautiful!
Thanks! I broke the most recent one in using water method (low speed for 10 minutes). I also lube and clean the motor after each use. Gearing is 19/86 running off of nimh batteries (8.4v).
Hi,
I'm curious how long your Titan 550T has lasted with regular usage?
PS:
I'm on my 3rd one (first with proper water break-in though) in my son's XL-5. I have one more left sitting on the...
I've cringed so many times after watching my car (or my son's) do a dozen cartwheels or make contact with an unmovable object at full throttle - only to walk over to the car, flip it over and say...
Well, I thought I was beating the h*ll out of the cars; perhaps I will ratchet it up a notch!
No, we are using the XL-5 models; one is bone stock with an RPM front bumper and the other has been upgraded to a 3rd Party brushless motor (plus RPM front bumper and upgraded shock shafts and caps).
With how tough these cars are - it really is impressive. We've been bashing our Rustlers for 3 weeks now and the cars can take a serious beating!
:)
As one who recently went through this decision; I regret buying another brushed motor and advocate going directly to a brushless setup. This can be done for under $100; if you have to buy batteries...
I recently purchased an XL-5 and the ESC supports LVC.
Thanks! I've got an ESC fan so I'll pick up a case.
Do you (or others) have any experience with the Integy Alloy Gear Box? That's the one I'm considering unless you recommend another.
Take...
