Not sure what you would deem as "nice" but if your looking for cheap then head to Walmart. They have some pretty good size Black & Decker plastic tool boxes for $15.88 where I go. Plenty big enough...
Try a couple of these...might get ya in the right area. If not just Google "2.3mm pinion" and start clicking links. :)

I believe it comes stock on the new Merv.
Just to satisfy ones curiosity please give a quick breakdown of the following, if you would.
Are you running...
Slash or Merv?
Brushed or Brushless?
How Long Have You Owned It?
Primary Battery...
I can't imagine that'll be anytime soon. :)
hmmm...well at the present time I really don't remember to be honest with ya, but its been a long day too. :wacko:
Right from the Power Up page...
VXL-3M ESC and Velineon 380 Motor Power Up $100.00
Boost your 1/16 model to 50+mph! Traxxas makes it easy with the Velineon® VXL-3m brushless power system. It...
The long antennae is one of the things I disliked most about my vehicles also...but with the stock 27MHz radio gear you'll probably have to deal with it. You can certainly try to keep it coiled up...
I would agree but if you have no plans of going lipo there really isn't a concern.
I too went with the Onyx 240 and even though I could have bought two separate chargers cheaper...it was worth the extra money to have a single unit. I have no complaints at all with it.
Got three packs of stock axle carriers but the pivot balls/caps wound up being out of stock. Luckily I had a couple spare caps but that leads to another question...
Is there an easy way to remove...
You do have the brushless version and not the brushed one I hope? 9.6v is the max input for the brushed so if you ran it in series it was way overkill.
These are the three gears in the manual for the brushed Slash;
7039 Gear, 15-T pinion (48 pitch, 2.3mm shaft)/ set screw .... $3.00
7041 Gear, 18-T pinion (48-pitch, 2.3mm shaft)/ set screw .......
I dropped the following into mine last weekend.

Not much action in here is there? :confused:
I think what your looking for is PRO107113.
I used everything RPM I could get my hands on back in the Stampede days but after getting back into the hobby I was surprised to find no Slash parts... I'll keep watching closely in hopes of seeing...
Welcome to the forums and welcome back to the hobby! I just got back in about six weeks ago myself...with a pair of brushed Slash's for my daughter and I to bash around with.
I can't tell you...
Here is the response I got this afternoon from RPM in regards to axle carriers;
Dear Bob,
We're very well aware of the problems associated with the stock axle carriers and we are looking...
I did measure the 2.4GHz antennae before installing and it was 10" long. Of course after getting it routed out of the receiver box and up through the tube it was considerably shorter than stock. ...
I now understand why everyone has upgraded to aluminum carriers. I also know why everyone said to have some spares on hand if you don't upgrade.
My daughter and I hit the LHS today for some...
"I told you so" would apply if I had of sent them to Traxxas, but if you read the post I did the Power Up at my LHS and they told me they needed the crystals.
It was the next day when I got the...
Maybe his LHS is hosing him too... :unsure:
I've just always tried to spend as much of my money locally as possible, not just the LHS but in most everything I purchase. Just in the original purchase of the two trucks, onyx 240 and a pair of...
