you can get good 3s for $100 or less...( I bought a venom 3s 5400mah for $55 on fleebay...some say stay away from them, but its still going strong)......as far as how much more speed? Night and day...
why are nimhs easier? I have both and the Lipo is just as "easy" as the nimh.......PLUS it never gets hot....its lighter...longer run time.....and a 2s has as much power as my 8.4 nimhs....we dont...
that 86 wont work well on the 4x4....i put one on but it was a PITA...and was ruined after about 3 batteries through it
I broke a stock plastic output yoke after only 3 times to the track.....Ill be going with the MIP CVDs next time
I just traded a vxl 2wd (buggy wheels and backslash conversion) for a 4x4...and its night and day difference for me....the 4x4 is hands down a better/faster truck...on the track
I used the Helfire on the one I built

interested to hear if anyone has tested it also.....might change mine before the plastic takes a dump on me
if they came stock Id just take them off...they are ugly....period
it depends on your GPS...mine said this was only 49mph (second pass on road) seemed alot faster...later the same gearing went almost 10mph faster....27-76 gearing...
youll love it...I did burn one up and sent it back to Traxxas...they sent another free of charge!

I went outside and ran the truck for 20 minutes straight at a low speed in my 4x4....low detection never kicked in (kept blipping the throttle every minute or so) so I figured I might throw it on...
agreed...great costumer service!! I had to send a esc back to them...once another new one was returned it was bad from the very start....smoke as soon as you plug it in.....sent it back....2 weeks...
lol...yeah...I know....I did actually do it on my old xl5/stock motor after I bought a vxl for it a while back...I putted around and gave it all she had for about 2 seconds at a time to see if it...
dang...thats cheap too...and guess it would be plenty loud enough to hear ...say 60 ft away?
no idea...but a 19t pinion and a 54t spur will haul in my 4x4....seems faster than my 2wd vxl did both with the same 3s .....2wd with 27-76 48p...but havnt thrown a GPS on to make sure yet
Edited...
I actually use lipos for my 4x4 vxl (3s) ......what voltage alarm are you using?
