It is the "waterproof" esc. Case isn't cracked, wires have no damage to their coverings. The shrink wrap is a little chewed up on the motor wires but that is an easy fix. The power button works good...

Has an aftermarket body, new style(4wd/VXL) steering rack, RPM gear cover, ESC mounting plate because the XL5 doesn't have the mounting tabs, Hitec ultra torque servo, and a battery expantion kit.

I like the Novak 8.5 in mine. It's 5000KV and it only gets hot if I run it for a long time in the grass. I would not get a higher KV than that.
