oh very interesting! do the factory hollow balls fit?
I've had both and GPMs feel inferior to HRs all around.
HR makes great stuff.
Those look great man. Love the wheels too
3 cell and grippy tires for pavement, 2 cell and indoor clay tires for the track.
Do you have the TQi? If so, you can set your multi function knob to adjust braking. This procedure is outlined in the manual. Keep in mind that big wheels and tires will dramatically reduce brake...
4wd combined with wheels and tires that are relatively heavy for the vehicle make for very exaggerated reactions to throttle input. makes it tough to jump consistently, but the challenge makes it...
I was thinking of converting to rwd just for fun. I can see how speed would be increased, but I'm wondering how braking is affected. I can't seem to keep my rear ring gears intact as it is now,...
yeah ... post #3 links to what I "remember seeing" lol
I remember seeing an earlier version of these that had a very exaggerated spiral cut. This revision looks much more like stock with a slight angle cut. Wonder how these will hold up. I'm quite...
hmmm. makes me wonder about the new radios being shipped, they dropped the -i and added a huge antenna to the receiver. perhaps this is in response to TQi issues. overall, the percentage is...
I have blue springs up front and purple out back. Front feels perfect with 80w and summit pistons. I feel the rear needs a stiffer spring and 100w is still too bouncy. Gonna experiment with...
I have tried RPM carriers but they kept on popping pillow balls. Then tried GPMs and never popped a pillow ball on those but they allowed a lot of axle play and they felt notchy around the pillow...

offset refers to the position of the hub relative to the wheels centerline. in other words, if the wheel sticks out further than stock, it will have a low offset (the hex is close to the inside of...
Road rages grip  I have the truck tires, they are big and heavy so you will notice their weight has an effect on responsiveness and braking. However they are wide and meaty so you will...
rear diff. lack of shims ... just my guess. you on lipo?
I would still recommend lipos, even for a beginner. 2 cell lipo, and gear down with the included smaller 23 tooth pinion.
They're planning something alright. Selling us lower quality equipment with less features and charging more for it.
The output gear is the last gear in the tranny connected to the front and rear driveshafts. It is driven by a metal gear. Just get the tranny gear rebuild kit #7093 and you're good to go
I agree with what has already been said. I too had to learn the hard way. A new ring and pinion, fresh diff fluid and shims will get you back on the road
my output gear was chewed up, causing a whining from the transmission. This plastic gear is driven by a metal one, so I'm guessing thats why it went out .... or maybe it was all the 3s wheelies. ...
my buddy decided to pick up a merv. after checking two local hobby shops who were both sold out, we were informed that they no longer stock them, and will have to be special ordered. after...

HPI v grooves in the harder M compound. Slides all over the place. :)
^ what he just said gets a big +1
Power is nothing without control
