That's definitely what I found. I have not really had any issues since I went back to stock arms/wheelbase.

Ok, thanks for all the info. Food for thought.

Though for me it is not the stub axles that are the problem, I keep breaking the ears off either the rear output yokes or the end of the slider...

There are two sorts of "programming the ESC" - first setting the min/max points (which I think is what StreetShaker meant, and which does not require a card), and second the other settings available...

    Sounds good!

Yes, that lipo is great - you just need to dremel that little slot for the wires:

Nice deal! Are they nice and chunky motors? Powerful enough?
Not sure they would be such a good price by the time they get to the UK, though...

    By my reckoning:

An 18T pinion on your 9.9v LiFePo pack with the 1900kv motor will give you the same top speed as stock achieves on 2S.

But you would need a 27T pinion on your 9.9v LiFePo...

    Hi RCcbet,
As far as I can see the Mamba Max ESC supports up to 100Amps continuous, so you should be fine, but the only thing is that (I believe) it only supports 2 or 3S, not 4S. So as crusey_aus...

Well I bought this setup to run on 4S... imo 1900kv is a bit low to choose to run with 2S or 3S. You could do it, of course, but one of the key points is that using 4S (with appropriate gearing)...

 No one should hate you for running your truck the way you like it! Buying a 9.6v NiMH is quick, easy and cheap, won't tax the VXL too much... and if that works for you, perfect! :D

  12. I can't see why the MMP would have any problem...

I can't see why the MMP would have any problem with this 1900kv motor - it is only rated to 75A after all. On any un-sensored brushless motor, there is no right and wrong way to connect the wires -...

Sorry to bump a quiet thread, but I wanted to post an update for those considering this setup, as I have had a couple of PMs asking about it.

The KD36-74-09XL 1900kv motor and 150A have been...

Yup, the ESC is pretty big, similar to an MMM (bit wider, but not as tall). Seems to run pretty cool, too. The motor is 75mm long (not including shaft) and 35mm wide. That's good to hear that the...

Oh yes, I am sure the average current is nowhere near 100A continuous :-) I just like to have a bit of headroom in the ESCs (and lipos) that I buy so that I can have flexibility with what I do with...

    Thanks!
I'll watch out for the endbell.

220* seems crazy hot! I run my 6XL on 4S in my 2WD and it runs a lot cooler than that! They are not the most efficient motors for sure, but I think 4S is...

You could well be right - the 1900KV motor is only only supposed to pull a maximum of 75Amps, so you'd think a 100A ESC would do it... If that is the case, it would save you nearly half the price on...

That's great - thanks for the clarification. And yes, of course, Tekno must have 12mm hexes for 6mm shafts ... so I can do it all without any wobbly dremmel work!

Just wanted to check - if I wanted to do this for the rear only and wanted to avoid any dremmeling, I could buy the slimmer bearings so I don't...
