Shaky17, thanks for the advice. I just ordered the receiver. Hopefully it will resolve my problem too. The antenna wire definitely looks longer, but it does not appear to be a coaxial antenna.
I'm using the truck in such a wide open field, that it's not hard to open it up and before you know it, you're out of range. Anyone else have any experiences?
Would you say you getting much farther than 100 yards? What kinda of batteries are you using in the transmitter?
My factory receiver started acting up, so I decided to replace both the radio and receiver with Spektrum. I've been contemplating this purchase for quite some time and thought I'd take advantage of...
I bought this one from Amazon and have been happy with it...

akesj1, thanks so much! I am going to try this!
That's how I currently have it setup.... Just hanging out of the box. Any other suggestions?
I just installed the receiver that came with my Spektrum DX3C (SR300) in my Stampede 4x4 and I'm having major range issues. The antenna wire is so short it's ridiculous! Needless to say, it doesn't...
I concur... 4x4 is the way to go! I have a blast off-roading with my Stampede 4x4. I also have a Rustler (2wd) and it's awesome on-road, but there's no comparison between the two off-road! Get the...
You can buy a motor rebuild kit from Traxxas. I will try to provide a link tomorrow. Is it under warranty?
I've read and searched the forum, but cannot find exactly what I'm needing help with.... I've got a Stampede VXL 4x4 with Traxxas Big Bore shocks. I want to get replacement springs that would be good...
Here are the promised pictures...
Stampede with ProLine Desperado wheels and ProLine Street Fighter tires...
This is not my understanding. Spektrum sells a 2 channel radio and receiver with telemetry capability. Just as with the standard Traxxas radio, one channel controls the steering servo and the other...
Just got finished gluing up the tires for both my Stampede and Rustler. I'll get some pictures up later today. Jimh, the Raptor body/wheels/tires look great!
Please post some pics of your Stampede lowered. Is there a lowering kit or what parts did you buy?
Do you use your third channel for anything?
I am thinking about getting a new radio with telemetry so I can monitor motor temperatures. Since Traxxas does not offer any radio with telemetry, I was considering the Spektrum DX2S DSM 2-Ch...
Is your Stampede lowered or are those tires just huge? What are they 3.8"?
Not yet. I haven't received them yet. They should arrive on Wednesday. I'll post a pic as soon as I get them mounted.
I also ordered the Pro-Line Road Rage tires for my Rustler. Those should be...
I thought they were not as tall too but after re-checking the specs, they are 4.75" tall where as the stock Talons are 4.8". So the final rollout ratio will be nearly unaffected. For others like...
I ended up ordering the Pro-Line Desperado wheels and the Pro-Line Street Fighter tires. I'll post back here if anyone is interested in knowing how these tires do.

I have both the Rustler VXL and the Stampede 4x4 VXL. My buddy that I race with has the 1/16 scale E-Revo VXL and that sucker is FAST as heck but in my opinion both my Rustler and Stampede are easier...
Yes, and for that matter, I'd purchase the wheelie bar the same day you buy the Rustler. Stock, the rear motor is protected, but all that scraping (if you do wheelies) is a little too close for...
Thanks for the info on what a broken diff feels like.
I don't get why everyone reacts like I'm a crazy person by running the car on a 3s LiPo with 17/54 gearing. I configure the Stampede exactly...
