If you look closely at a Raven S, a Method R, and a SV2 Pro BB, you can see that the Method R is made with cheaper materials and a cheaper can. The Raven S looks more like the SV2 Pro BB, than the...

If you look closely at a Raven S, a Method R, and a SV2 Pro BB, you can see that the Method R is made with cheaper materials and a cheaper can. The Raven S looks more like the SV2 Pro BB, than the...
I had the same problem, but when I took the wheels and tires off to fix them, I found they would spin true on a spindle. It seems the Slash hubs are the problem. The stock tires wobble also, but it...
I have honestly not done enough testing yet to say that one performs better than the other. I do have both an Orion Pro SV2 BB and a Peak Racing Raven S. They both have the exact same SV2 endbell and...
Doesn't seem like a steal to me. What are you going to do with it? Do you already have a Slash and you bought this for spare parts? You don't really need a spare chassis, because they rarely break....
The Peak Raven S has the same SV2 endbell and angled brushes as the Orion, but it is cheaper. Be sure to get the "S" model as it has bearings compared to bushings in the regular Raven.

Here is my new paint job with decals glued inside body before spraying color.

Once it gets around 50 MPH it will flip over backwards so you won't be able to go much faster than that.....maybe 55. You might want to put a few ounces of lead near the front of the chassis, that...
Also, If you want a faster top speed, you should install the 23T pinion gear that comes with the Slash.
Switch tires for Slash are 2.2 on both inner and outer. Switch tires for Slayer are 2.2 outer and 3.0 inner. You can run Switch tires on stock rims, just order the correct size to match.
Well, you can add another LVC that does not work with the XL-5. I purchased a LipoShield from Dimension Engineering and it has the same problem as the others (Cellshield & Novak Smart Stop). At this...
Before you purchase a LiPo for racing, find out if they require you to use a hard case LiPo (some packs just use shrink wrap). Then look for a battery with a high C rating; a higher C rating means...
littleman, stop asking the same question over and over. There are 58 replies on this thread. Why don't you just start with the smallest pinion you have and see what results you get. If it doesn't...
The Equinox Balancer is about $10 dollars less than the Checkpoint, but limits charging to 3A. You can buy higher current adapters for it, but then you are spending more. I think the Checkpoint...
life,
The switch tires for the Slash will mount on the older Slash wheels that have a 2.2" diameter both inside and outside beads. If you order new stock wheels for the Slash they will have a 2.2"...
Here is my Slash project. The engine cost $20,000 and with a 258T pinion gear I estimate it will go over 420 MPH. This will not flip over like some of the brushless 3S rigs, but I am having a couple...
The XL-5 CAN run 2S LiPo with no problem. You can use an LOA (Loud Obnoxious Alarm), they do not automatically cut the voltage when you reach the cutoff, but you just stop driving when you hear the...
If you really want the balancer built in to the charger, then you should get the Hyperion 0606i from MaxAmps. It has all the same features and many positive comments from users. I have heard of...
The end bars are where you solder the wires to. But if you are new to RC, then you would probably prefer a pack that already has the wires and connector assembled. If you will not be racing, then you...
I agree with DrFizz. Just because a LiPo is rated at a constant current of 90A or more, does not mean your RC can or will draw that much. If it did then you would dump a full 5000 mAH LiPo pack in...
Has anyone found an LVC that works with the XL-5? I know the Novak Smart Stop does not work and I have also heard the Cellshield does not work. Has anyone tried Liposhield from Dimension Engineering...
Thanks for all the replies. LiPo does seem more attractive with the less expensive packs you guys pointed out. I don't think the math works for some of the more expensive packs. Especially when you...
I agree with the previous replies. It is important to get a charger that will meet both your current and future needs. AC/DC is nice and saves you the cost of a separate power supply. Adjustable peak...
I know there are several threads regarding LiPo performance, but I have seen many comments like: "I upgraded from 1800 NiMH 6C to 2S 8000 LiPo and I really noticed an improvement." Uhhhh....you went...
